The first Home Nations Series event of the 2023/24 season gets underway in October as Essex plays host to the English Open.
Nine months after Mark Selby defeated Luca Brecel 9-6 in the 2022 final, the Brentwood Centre is ready to open its doors to the world’s best players, including recent Shanghai Masters champion, Ronnie O’Sullivan.

Who is playing the English Open?
The top-16 ranked players in the world will all be in action in Brentwood on the opening day of the English Open, including O’Sullivan and defending champion Selby.
O’Sullivan, who pulled out of both the European Masters and the British Open, is scheduled to play Andrew Pagett in front of his home crowd in Essex, while Selby is in action against Xing Zihao.

Fans will also be treated to a mouth-watering match when world champion Brecel plays teenage sensation Stan Moody, and John Higgins will face off against Marco Fu.
Other big-name players in action will be Jack Lisowski, Mark Allen, Neil Robertson and Mark Williams.
What is the English Open schedule?
Play starts at 10am UK time on the opening day of the tournament with the afternoon session commencing at 1pm and the evening session at 8pm.
As is the case for all of the Home Nations events, the matches will be best-of-seven frames up to and including the fourth round.
The quarter-finals will be best-of-nine frames, the semi-finals best-of-11 frames and the final will be best-of-17.

The 2023 English Open final is on Sunday, October 8.
