Tyson Fury, Jedward, Beyonce and now the upcoming Euro 2024 – Fortuna Dusseldorf’s stadium is no stranger in showcasing high-profile events.
The ground of the Bundesliga 2 side will host five games in next summer’s European Championship in Germany.

Three group games will take place at Dusseldorf Arena along with two knockout matches – a Round of 16 tie and the last quarter-final clash.
Built in anticipation of the 2006 World Cup, the 47,000-seater was omitted from their eventual venues list, but it will finally now be used at a major competition.
And it has had plenty of practice in welcoming some of the world’s biggest names, from sporting icons to music legends.
In November 2015, it was the scene of Tyson Fury’s world title fight where he faced unified WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Against the odds, the ‘Gypsy King’ dethroned the Ukrainian in a unanimous points decision victory – inflicting ‘Dr. Steelhammer’s’ first defeat in 11 years.
Though the fight wasn’t without controversy, after Team Fury threatened to walk away having taken exception to two extra layers of sponge on the canvas.
In total, Klitschko fought at the ground three times, which saw him knockout Eddie Chambers and Jean-Marc Mormeck before he pitted his wits against Fury.
Along with hosting international football matches involving Germany and Portugal, American football games have taken place – notably two World Bowls as well as the inaugural match of the 2021 European League of Football season.

Dusseldorf Arena has also played host to huge music concerts, from Beyonce, The Rolling Stones, Coldplay and Madonna, to Bruce Springsteen, the Black Eyes Peas and Take That.
It was just this summer that Harry Styles and The Weeknd performed at the Stadium.
And in the weeks following Euro 2024, Coldplay will return for the second time as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour.
Meanwhile, Eurovision fans will never forget the 2011 edition of the annual song competition which saw Jedward and Blue on stage.
Representing Ireland and the United Kingdom respectively, Jedward finished in eighth, with Blue just missing out on the top ten as they came 11th.
In what was a typical energetic performance from the former X Factor contestants, the Irish twins scooped the Artistic Award for their rendition of song ‘Lipstick’.
Proving to be a hit with the fans, Jedward again represented Ireland in the following Eurovision in Azerbaijan.

All signs point towards an incredible 2024 in Dusseldorf, with Fortuna in the mix to gain promotion back to the German top-flight as they sit fourth in the table.
And if it’s anything like Fury’s only fight at the stadium, as well as Jedward’s iconic performance, fans can expect plenty of drama and entertainment from the five matches on show.
