Euro 2024: Who are the Favourites As We Approach the Summer Tournament?

The upcoming Euro 2024 football tournament, officially called the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14.

As the buildup to Europe’s biggest football tournament begins, we will be taking a closer look at who the favourites are. You can also find out which stadiums the games will be held.

Where will the Euro 2024 games be held?

The Euro 2024 football matches will be held at several of Germany’s most iconic stadiums. The minimum capacity requirement is 30,000. Let’s take a look at exactly which stadiums will play host to Europe’s biggest footballing nations, starting with the smallest stadium:

Location: Leipzig. Stadium: Red Bull Arena (aka Leipzig Stadium). Capacity: 42,959
Location: Cologne. Stadium: RheinEnergieStadion (aka Cologne Stadium). Capacity: 49,827
Location: Düsseldorf. Stadium: Merkur Spiel-Arena (aka Düsseldorf Arena). Capacity: 51,031
Location: Hamburg. Stadium: Volksparkstadion (aka Volksparkstadion Hamburg). Capacity: 52,245
Location: Frankfurt. Stadium: Waldstadion (aka Frankfurt Arena). Capacity: 54,697
Location: Gelsenkirchen. Stadium: Veltins-Arena (aka Arena AufSchalke). Capacity: 54,740
Location: Stuttgart. Stadium: MHPArena (aka Stuttgart Arena). Capacity: 54,906
Location: Dortmund. Stadium: Signal Iduna Park (aka BVB Stadion Dortmund). Capacity: 65,849
Location: Munich. Stadium: Allianz Arena (aka Fußball Arena München). Capacity: 70,076
Location: Berlin. Stadium: Olympiastadion (aka Olympiastadion Berlin). Capacity: 74,461

Which team will most likely win Euro 2024?

To find out which team will most likely win the Euro 2024 football tournament, the best thing to do would be to look at the latest odds at fully licensed and regulated iGaming sites like the official Unibet website. The odds and implied probability rate can give us a better idea of who might win.

Here are the latest odds, starting with the odds-on favourite (the team most likely to win Euro 2024):

England – the current joint odds-on favourite to win Euro 2024 outright. Fractional odds=4/1. Decimal odds=5.00. American/moneyline odds=+400. Implied probability rate (IPR)=20.00%
France – the current joint odds-on favourite along with England to win Euro 2024 outright. Fractional odds=4/1. Decimal odds=5.00. American/moneyline odds=+400. Implied probability rate (IPR)=20.00%
Germany – the second odds-on favourite to win Euro 2024 outright. Fractional odds=7/1. Decimal odds=8.00. American/moneyline odds=+700. Implied probability rate (IPR)=12.50%
Spain – the third odds-on favourite to win Euro 2024 outright. Fractional odds=8/1. Decimal odds=9.00. American/moneyline odds=+800. Implied probability rate (IPR)=11.10%

You then have Portugal at 9/1 with only a 10% chance of winning, the Netherlands at 12/1 with a 7.70% chance, and both Belgium and Italy at 16/1 with a 5.90% chance.

In comparison, the two least favourite teams to win, Malta and San Marino, are currently priced, on average, at 5,000/1 and 7,000/1, respectively, meaning they have a 0% chance of winning.

Which countries are the most successful at the UEFA European Championship finals?

The two most successful teams at the UEFA European Championship finals (aka The Euros) are Germany and Spain, who have both won the tournament on three separate occasions.

Germany won in 1972, 1980, and 1996, and Spain won in 1964, 2008, and 2012. You then have Italy (2), who won in 1968 and 2020, and France (also 2), who won in 1984 and 2000.

Other teams that have won the Euros are Russia (1), Czech Republic (1), Portugal (1), Netherlands (1), and Greece (1). The current odds-on favourites, England, have never won. However, they did make it to the finals in 2020 but ended up losing to Italy, who won their second European final.

Don’t forget that the odds mentioned on this page are subject to change at any time and that the  outcome of any is never guaranteed.
