You can run, but you can’t hide. Running back injuries come for us all. A never-ending battle with the position continues during the first round of the fantasy playoffs, as De’Von Achane, Aaron Jones, and AJ Dillon all have some sort of issue to deal with before their Week 15 kickoffs. Will they end up taking the field on Sunday? More important, should they be in your fantasy lineup if they do?
Below, we’ll give you the latest news on these key RBs and break down how their injuries could potentially affect the Week 15 fantasy landscape.
WEEK 15 INJURY UPDATES: WRs/TEs | Geno
Is De’Von Achane playing Week 15?
UPDATE: Achane is officially ACTIVE.
Achane (toe) is officially listed as “questionable” ahead of the Dolphins’ matchup with the Jets at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. The rookie logged a limited practice on Friday after turning in two DNPs to start the week. HC Mike McDaniel said earlier in the week that Achane was among many “question marks” for his team on Sunday, leaving fantasy owners to wait for the official word when active/inactive reports drop 90 minutes before kickoff. Achane’s status does feel eerily similar to how the team handled him in Week 12 before their last matchup with the Jets. The RB was held out of that Black Friday game, with Miami erring on the side of caution. It seems like we might be trending in that direction again.
WEEK 15 FANTASY ADVICE:
Sleepers | Busts | Projections | Start-sit
Coming in off a short week, the Dolphins are trying to avenge a shocking loss to the Titans on Monday night, one that saw them blow a 14-point lead in the final four minutes. Miami’s quest for the AFC’s top seed took a big hit in the process and suddenly allowed the Bills back into the division race with just three games to go. Whether that reality makes it more likely Achane suits up remains to be seen. There are suddenly plenty of injury concerns for the undersized rookie, making that incredible three-game run seem more like the exception rather than the rule. Regardless, Achane is certainly worth one of your RB spots in fantasy lineups if he plays despite a looming timeshare with Raheem Mostert. If Achane is out, Jeff Wilson Jr. will pick up the slack and have low-end flex value in deep leagues.
WEEK 15 PPR RANKINGS:

Is Aaron Jones playing Week 15?
UPDATE: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported late Saturday night that Jones is expected to play against Tampa.
UPDATE 2: Jones is officially ACTIVE.
Jones (knee) is once again listed as “questionable” leading up to a game. The RB was unable to suit up for Green Bay’s Monday night contest against the Giants, but it seems as if there’s more optimism ahead of their game against the Buccaneers at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. Jones put in three limited sessions in the lead-up to kickoff as he recovers from an MCL sprain, marking six consecutive LPs on the injury reports over the past two weeks. Green Bay took Jones’ status down to Monday before ultimately keeping the RB out of action. The timing of it all suggests that he should return to action in Week 15.
WEEK 15 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
As we continue to say with the Packers’ backfield, start them at your own risk. The RBs have been inconsistent and inefficient, especially with Jones being injured for a good majority of the year. The matchup is also a bad one, as Tampa’s defense is stronger against the run. It would be hard to have a lot of faith in Jones during the first round of the fantasy playoffs. His fantasy outlook is mostly tied to the status of his running mate, AJ Dillon.
Is AJ Dillon playing Week 15?
UPDATE: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning that Dillon is not expected to play against Tampa.
UPDATE 2: Dillon is officially OUT.
Dillon (thumb) also finds himself listed as “questionable” for the Packers heading into Sunday. The RB is dealing with a broken thumb that he suffered against the Giants on Monday night, and a short turnaround might not bode well for his chances of playing. Dillon turned in a limited practice on Friday after being a DNP for the two days prior. Given the matchup against the Buccaneers and the fact that Jones seems to be nearing a return to action, it seems that Dillon is trending more toward inactive than active.
WEEK 15 DFS: DK lineup | FD lineup | Best values | Best stacks
The deal is the same with Dillon as it was with Jones. The RBs are hard enough to have confidence starting by themselves. When you bring the other into the fold, it becomes near impossible. Ball security could be a concern while Dillon nurses the injured thumb, and that’s probably enough to remove him from the fantasy radar for Week 15. Patrick Taylor would be in line for a boost in workload if either RB couldn’t play and would assume the RB1 spot if both are ruled out.
