The top Week 13 fantasy waiver wire pickups and free agent adds once again lack the oomph many fantasy football owners are looking for this time of year. However, with six byes on tap and plenty of banged-up players, there will still be plenty of activity both before and after waivers clear around 4-5 a.m. ET on Wednesday mornings in most ESPN and Yahoo leagues.
Our full waivers list has plenty of interesting WR stashes for the stretch run, including rookies Jayden Reed, Jalin Hyatt, Jonathan Mingo, and Cedric Tillman, and there are also a few high-upside RB (Roschon Johnson, Miles Sanders, Jeff Wilson Jr.) and TE stashes (Pat Freiermuth, Isaiah Likely). For most in 10- and 12-team leagues, our Week 13 streamer suggestions probably have more immediate value, which is why we’re featuring the best options at QB, WR, TE, and D/ST below. The full streamer list can be found at the end of this article.
It’s unlikely we’ll see many high waiver claims used this week. If you’re desperate for a streamer, then you can consider making a claim for your preferred player, but you probably don’t need to do that given all the similar options at each position. This is just one of those weeks where there aren’t a lot of “must-have” players or desirable pickups, which is unfortunate considering six teams are on bye (Ravens, Bills, Bears, Vikings, Raiders, Giants).

That said, it never hurts to be active in free agency, especially if you know you’ll need streamers in Week 14 or Week 15. Getting your first choice now while other owners are worrying about the current week can give you a boost down the line.

Top fantasy football waiver wire pickups and streamers for Week 13
Unless otherwise noted, only players owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues are considered.
Roschon Johnson, RB, Bears. Johnson finally got his shot to lead the Bears’ backfield in Week 12, and he responded with a solid 75 total yards on 15 touches. His five receptions show what he’s capable of in PPR leagues, and if he continues in this role, he’ll have a lot of value after Chicago’s Week 13 bye. D’Onta Foreman (ankle) could return and spoil the fun, but at the very least, it looks like Johnson is above Khalil Herbert (eight touches, 38 total yards in Week 12) on the Bears’ depth chart. Stash him now
Kenny Pickett, QB, Steelers (vs. Cardinals in Week 13). Pickett has seven total TDs all season, so he’s not exactly a high-ceiling option. That said, he should be in line for his best game of the season against an Arizona defense that’s allowed multiple QB touchdowns in four straight games, including four last week to Matthew Stafford. Pickett took well to Pittsburgh’s new offense, throwing for a season-high 278 yards last week, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him post a solid fantasy day in Week 13.
WEEK 13 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Jonathan Mingo, WR, Panthers (@ Buccaneers in Week 13). Mingo has seen at least six targets in each of his past three weeks, and he’s coming off one of his best games of the season (four catches, 60 yards). The Panthers will have a new coach and playcaller this week, and they’ll likely open up the playbook and throw downfield more often. Against Tampa’s 31st-ranked pass defense, that could mean a breakout week for the talented rookie. Not only is Mingo worth a flex spot next week, but he should also be a worthwhile stash for the stretch run.
Juwan Johnson, TE, Saints (vs. Lions in Week 13). Despite being in and out of the game with a head injury in the second half last week, Johnson saw a season-high seven targets. He hauled in four for 45 yards, and he could be called on to do even more in Week 13 with Michael Thomas (knee) out and both Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (thigh) iffy to play. Johnson is really a glorified wide receiver playing tight end, but the Lions can’t cover either right now. Look for Johnson to be heavily featured and come through with his best game of the season.
WEEK 13 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Atlanta Falcons D/ST (@ Jets in Week 13). The Tim Boyle Era started about as well as could be expected for the Jets last week. The Dolphins don’t exactly have a dominant defense, but they racked up seven sacks, two takeaways, and a defensive touchdown while allowing just seven offensive points against the Jets. Meanwhile, Atlanta turned in a solid defensive effort of its own, limiting the Saints to 15 points while turning them over twice and scoring once. It would be nice if this game was in Atlanta, but either way, the Falcons will rack up points for your fantasy squad.
