Kylian Mbappe has been given a transfer ultimatum by Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Al-Khelaifi has been quoted saying by Fabrizio Romano: “I was really shocked to learn that Mbappe intended to leave for free.
“Kylian is a fantastic boy, a gentleman… and leaving for free, when we’re the biggest French club, it’s not at his level. I was shocked and disappointed.
“We had an agreement with Mbappé as he confirmed, verbal agreement. That’s the reason why I’m shocked.
“In football, you never see your best player leaving the club for free. It never happens”.
He added: “We want Mbappe to stay but he can’t leave for free, it’s very clear and simple. It was a verbal agreement and Mbappé also said that publicly in an interview. So it’s not debatable.”

He will join up with his new club for the start of their pre-season campaign.
Dwight Yorke insists Harry Kane shouldn’t give up on leaving Tottenham to join Manchester United.
The Old Trafford legend compares Kane to Robin van Persie and says the England captain can still perform at the very top level for the next two years and help the Red Devils win titles.
Asked about Erik ten Hag’s search for a striker, Yorke told BettingSites.co.uk: “Victor Osimhen does look like the real deal and Harry Kane is 29 years old, soon to be 30. But Robin van Persie was 29 years old when he joined Manchester United from Arsenal and look what happened.
“If Kane was over 30, then I’d probably say they should prioritise Osimhen, but at 29, Kane still has a couple of good years and he’ll want that elusive Premier League or major trophy.
“The problem is it’s never a two-year contract, it’s always at least four years. In terms of the next two years, I’d sign Kane, but after that is when it becomes a problem.”
Arsenal have agreed a fee with Ajax for the transfer of Jurrien Timber, talkSPORT understands.
The deal is not done just yet, but it is edging closer as Mikel Arteta looks a strengthen his defence.

Harvey Barnes is a target for Newcastle this summer, according to reports.
The Daily Telegraph claim Eddie Howe wants to bring in a new left winger after already landing his prioirty signing – central midfielder Sandro Tonali.
The Magpies already have players in that wide attacking position, but Howe is keen to strengthen his side ahead of the club’s return to Champions League football this season.
There will be a fair amount of competition for the Leicester City ace, with Aston Villa, West Ham and Tottenham also linked with an interest.
But it’s expected Newcastle will be there when the bidding starts, with Barnes believed to be valued around £30m by the Foxes.
British acting legend Ray Winstone has rubbished the claims he could be part of the group buying out Southend United and is set for a seat on the National League side’s board.
Speaking exclusively on talkSPORT’s Drivetime yesterday, Winstone – co-founder of agency company ISM -said:“I can’t… I’m part of an agency, so I can’t be part of a board in any way for a football club.
“I did have talks with a certain company about it, because I’ve got a great love for Southend. It was the first team I ever went to see play football when I was a kid.
“My nan lived in Southend and when I was a little kid my uncle Len took me along to see Southend play, so I’ve always had a kind of a little love affair with them.
“I hope someone takes it over and turns it into a blinding club, because it needs some money injected into it.”
Winstone also laughed off the recent suggestions that Hollywood star and former WWE wrestler Dwanye ‘The Rock’ Johnson is also part of the takeover of the Essex club.
He added: “Can you imagine, me and The Rock? No, a bit of Brighton rock or Southend rock, that’s about it!
“But no, there are people banding things around, it’s a load of rubbish. I don’t know.
“I think the people going into Southend have great intentions of actually doing some good stuff there, they want to develop the stadium there and with that kind of facility they’re talking about, good players will want to go there at that level and hopefully it will stand them in good stead for the future.”
Reece James has told Mason Mount he will ‘always be blue at heart’ after his move to Manchester United was confirmed.
Mount has swapped Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford in a £55million deal, where he has penned a five-year contract.
And in an emotional Instagram post, James looked back over his time with his former teammate, posting pictures of the pair throughout the years at Chelsea.
Captioning the upload, James said: “Ma [sic] brother man. Where do I start.
“I’ve know you since six years old, we grew together and took similar paths in breaking into the first team.
“Something that seemed virtually impossible. I’m proud to say I done it along side you.
“I’ve seen you as a little boy and watched you grow into the man and player you are today, you’ve done yourself and your family proud.
“We’ve had some of the best days of our career together that’ll stick with me forever. It’s sad to say goodbye.
“I wish you nothing but happiness, good health and the best of luck on your new adventure! You’ll always be blue at heart!”
New Man United man Mount replied: “My brother from day one, so many memories shared together! So proud of you, thank you RJ.”
A reminder of one of our top stories today – Declan Rice is set to have his Arsenal medical on Friday ahead of his transfer from West Ham.
The signing of the Hammers captain for £100million plus £5million in add-ons will not only break Arsenal’s own transfer record but also see Rice become the most expensive Englishman in Premier League history.
Arsenal launched their third and final bid last week with an offer which saw Man City pull out of the race to sign the 24-year-old.
West Ham were not happy with the payment structure of the Arsenal deal but, after further negotiations, it is understood an agreement is in place and Rice is free to discuss personal terms and have his medical ahead of a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Rice, who lifted the Europa Conference League title in what now looks set to be his final West Ham appearance, has been Arsenal’s top target this summer.
He would become the second summer signing for Mikel Arteta’s side, following the addition of Germany forward Kai Havertz from Chelsea, as the Gunners look to go one better than their second-placed finish last season.

New Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola is ready to fight as a Premier League ‘underdog’.
Iraola was appointed as Gary O’Neil’s successor at the Vitality Stadium last month.
He said: “When you start the season with the sense of being the underdogs, we have to gain a little bit of respect from the league.
“It is pretty similar (to Spain) because of the stadium being not so big or the club not having maybe the history – but we have to use this to our advantage and I am used to this in Spain with Rayo and Mirandes.
“For me this was a great opportunity, it is the Premier League and right now for sure it is best league in the world.
“We knew the club, now I have seen new faces, known new people, I am sure it is the right choice for me and I hope I can be at the level.”
“I don’t like the game to be too controlled,” he added.
“We try to attack as soon as we can, we open the game and have a good volume of chances and crosses.
“Sometimes you will suffer at the back but you have to be ready, we have good defenders, also.”
