Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have confirmed they will fight to become the first undisputed heavyweight since the four-belt (WBC, IBF, WBO and WBO) era was established. No date has been confirmed for the fight, but Fury said it “will be our next fight guaranteed” in the ring after he earned a split-decision win over Francis Ngannou in ‘The Battle of the Baddest’.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have confirmed their undisputed heavyweight showdown, with Fury saying a bout between the pair “will be our next fight guaranteed”.

No date has been confirmed for the fight but it will be hosted in Saudi Arabia.

“Listen, it’s been going on a long time,” said Fury to Usyk after he had beaten Ngannou.

“We were supposed to fight in April at Wembley. It never happened. Let’s do the fight over here [Saudi Arabia].

“His excellency Turki Al-Sheikh is going to put the fight on for all the belts, the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world. Let’s go my brother, let’s go.”

Usyk simply said: “Let’s go.”

Asked by presenter Josh Denzel whether the fight would go ahead on December 23rd, as has been rumoured, Fury said he would fight now, but it was not up to him.

“Listen it’s not up to me, I’m a fighter and he’s a fighter,” added Fury.

“I’m sure we could go now. Let’s go now if you want! These guys [gesturing at Frank Warren] will sort it all out and it will be on, it will be our next fight guaranteed.”

Frank Warren would not be drawn on a date, saying:

“I don’t think the date will be announced yet. The fight is wanted. It is done. This fight is on – these guys both want it. It is just a matter of setting a date.

“Tyson has got a cut there so it is no good saying a date while he has that cut on the top of his head – we have to see how that heals.

“It is the biggest fight in boxing. Everyone wants to see it and they will see it here in Saudi in Riyad Season, where it will break box office records. This is the biggest fight out there.”

Fury is the WBC title holder – though he did not put that belt on the line in his ‘Battle of the Baddest’ encounter with Ngannou – while Usyk holds the WBA, WBO and IBF championship belts.

Fury and Usyk now have the chance to fight to become the first undisputed heavyweight since the four-belt (WBC, IBF, WBO and WBO) era was established.
