“Get This M*f*** Down”

Bubba Wallace probably saw the Kansas race as a key test. He’s been having a tough time lately, with his team racking up two DNFs from crashes in recent weeks. On the bright side, he and his #23 car have had a solid track record at Kansas, winning there in 2022 and finishing P4 last year. But after a disappointing P23 qualifying spot at Kansas this time around, Wallace was pretty vocal about his car’s inconsistency. Fans are just as surprised to see the 23XI cars struggling so much on the track lately.

Bubba Wallace has been keeping his cool, but it’s been tough for him

After finishing 36th at Talladega and 32nd at Dover, Wallace and his 23XI Racing team have been in a bit of a slump, scraping together just seven points from those races. This is a big drop from the 51 points he scored with a fourth-place finish at Martinsville and 40 points from a seventh-place run at Texas just a couple of weeks earlier. Kansas was supposed to be his bounce-back spot.

He’s had three top-10 finishes in his last 12 starts at Kansas, including a 10th place last spring. With that kind of track record and Kansas popping up again in the playoffs, Wallace was really trying to stay positive. However, his frustration boiled over when he vented about his car’s inconsistency over the radio, saying, “So inconsistent, I don’t know what to do… you know what we talked about at the shop? Get this m*f***down.” He really let loose on 23XI Racing for not setting him up with a reliable ride. And it looks like he’s not the only one struggling; his teammate Tyler Reddick is also in the same boat.

After starting P15, Reddick only managed to finish P15, and P8 in the first two stages. On a similar front, Bubba Wallace, after qualifying, P23, could only get up to P18 and P17 in Stages 1 and 2 of the Kansas race. And that has not just frustrated Bubba Wallace, but even the fans are confused as to what is up with the 23XI cars.
