Kai Kara-France was set to fight Manel Kape at UFC 293 in Sydney. However, he sustained an injury in the build-up to the fight and had to pull out. Moreover, he also wanted to spend some time with his family, which added to his decision about his UFC 293 withdrawal. But he has kept himself busy by helping the community.

The 5th-ranked UFC flyweight fighter recently shared a story on Instagram of him giving a speech during an event. The event in question was a gathering where people talked about men’s mental health issues. Kai Kara-France mentioned that he had similar experiences and was thankful for the opportunity to speak about it. He said, “Honored to share my story and help other men on their mental health journey.”

However, the Auckland native mentioned that he missed out on his local rugby team, New Zealand Warriors‘ recent match against Newcastle Knights, due to the event. But he was happy to have been able to help his community in some way. “Gutted to miss the last Wahs home game but no other place I would rather be than helping my community,” said Kai-Kara France. Moreover, his advocacy for men’s mental health comes after Israel Adesanya mentioned this issue earlier.

‘The Last Stylebender’ is not a stranger to mental health issues. He has had his fair share of experiences as well. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Israel Adesanya called for medical experts catering to mental health to be present in hotels that were deemed as quarantine zones. It was to ensure the safety of the people who show signs of suicidal behaviors.

Furthermore, his teammate Shane Young previously talked about ‘Izzy’s upcoming documentary, ‘Stylebender’. He mentioned that the documentary could give rise to questions regarding mental health problems that men suffer from.
