The sting of defeat in the Kings Cup of Champions still resonates with Al Nassr. Despite fighting tooth and nail, Luis Castro and Co. missed out on their last chance to avoid a trophyless season. However, as they continue to heal their wounds, a silver lining appears for their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, who managed to end the season by breaking another record.
Even though it has been a difficult journey for the Portuguese superstar on the collective front, the legendary striker doesn’t look to stop on the personal front. Ronaldo has apparently become the first player ever to win 6 Player of the Month since the exception of this award in 2018/19. In fact, with this, the 39-year-old broke his own record of winning 5 POTM in his debut season.
No other player in the history of the Saudi Pro League has ever lifted such an amount of POTM. Notably, all the Player of the Month awards were picked in the month of August, September, December, January, March, and May. This is certainly quite a remarkable achievement for Ronaldo, as yet again, he raised the bar for this individual feat for ages. Notably, the former Real Madrid star also lifted the 23/24 Roshn Saudi League Golden Boot, scoring 35 goals.

He also finished third in the overall assist list with a tally of 11. Overall, he notched 44 goals and 13 assists, which is certainly no easy feat to achieve. Even in his 40s, the Portugal icon is leaving no territory uncharted. Yet, it’s the loss that often overshadows his achievements. Speaking of which, even his team managed to end the season with a significant financial prize.
Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al Nassr receives major cash injection despite a trophyless season
According to various economic reports, Al Nassr has secured over 47 million riyals ($12.5 million) in prize money from their consolation standings. This total includes 38 million riyals ($10 million) from overall league revenue and their second-place finish. The recent setback in the Kings Cup of Champions brought in 5 million riyals ($1.3 million), and their semifinal exit from the Saudi Super Cup added 1 million riyals ($270,000).

Additionally, the women’s team contributed significantly by winning the women’s Saudi League, earning 2 million riyals ($540,000). Al Nassr also won the 13- and 15-year-old Al Baraem titles, which came with 400,000 riyals ($107,000). While winning a major trophy would have increased their earnings, this substantial amount will still help the club make further developments. Let’s see how it goes!
