How to Start A Veil of Gossamer Clouds Quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2
The quest A Veil of Gossamer Clouds can be picked up at Vernworth Castle. It is given by Sven, the son of Queen Regent Disa. It’s the NPC who likes fancy and expensive items.
To get the quest, you need to first complete the Feast of Deception main quest and the Masked Correspondence side quest. However, you don’t need to go and talk to Sven directly for the quest to trigger.
After finishing the prerequisite quests, you can simply walk around town. An NPC will come in and say that the Regentkin Sven wishes to have an audience with you. This will prompt you to talk to Sven, which will then trigger the quest.
Alternatively, you can simply rest and go talk to Sven the next day to start the quest.
Quest Objective: Investigate the Letter and Report back to Sven

A Veil of Gossamer Clouds Quest Walkthrough
When you talk to Sven to trigger the quest, he will tell you that he discovered one of his mother’s letters addressed to a man named Phaesus. He wants you to investigate the letter and report back to him. What makes the quest so tricky to complete is that you don’t get any guidance on where to go next.
After getting the letter from the young monarch Sven, head to the Forbidden Magick Research Lab located in the Bakbattahl region. You need to overhear a conversation to proceed with the quest.
It’s a hostile zone, but you can sneak in by going through the door past the Dye Stores. Head across the bridge, and you can enter the lab through the door.
Once you’re in, go to the opposite side of the large dead dragon. You’ll overhear two people talking about a missive from Vermund. After the conversation plays out, go inside the Laboratorium – Workshop #2 and pick up the Letter to Lord Phaesus on the table.
Now, simply go back to Vernworth Castle and hand the letter over to Sven to complete the quest.
