Scotland’s players and staff could be set for a peak experience at their base camp for Euro 2024, near Mount Wank.
The Obermuhle Hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be the Tartan Army’s home for the duration of their stay in Germany.

However, travel could prove to be a struggle for certain games, with Scotland based in Bavaria, nearly 400 miles away from Cologne, where they play their second group game against Switzerland.
But it’s ideal for the tournament opener in Munich against Germany, just 55 miles from the hotel, meaning they can be at the Allianz Arena in less than an hour.
Obermuhle is a five-star luxury resort famed for its cuisine, with rooms starting at 250 Euros per night, making this a place for people with finer tastes.
The same family have owned the place for 400 years, and there are plenty of eye-catching features.
There is a penthouse suite and private spa as well as a roof terrace with a 180-degree mountain view, so there are plenty of places for Andy Robertson and co to unwind.

But it is the mountain that is the major talking point.
That is because it is called Mount Wank, which will no doubt amuse Steve Clarke and his team.
The summit of this impressive member of the Ester Mountains stands 1700 metres above sea level.
To reach the top, you take the Wankbahn cable car [no, we aren’t joking], and that will set you back 29 Euros, but once you get to the tip, there is a restaurant, Wankstuberl, which will serve up some lovely Bavarian cuisine.

But before all that, Scotland will start preparations for the Euros much closer to home.
Clarke revealed that the Tartan Army would spend a lot of time in Glasgow.
Speaking about that decision, he said: “We’re going to base ourselves in Glasgow. We’re not going abroad. I think with the last Euros, it felt a little bit remote, out of the country, we didn’t really get a feel for how the nation was.
“Obviously, it was in Covid times, so it was a little bit different. This time my thinking is that I want the boys to feel the mood of the country before they leave for Germany.
“Plus, fantastic hotel, great pitch, so we know exactly what we’ve got. Home comforts. And then go and attack the tournament.
“That’s what I want for the players. It’s about feeling the mood of the nation before they go there, so they go there understanding the magnitude of the tournament they are going into.”

Where are Scotland’s Group A opponents based?
Scotland have the honour of opening the Euros against the hosts, Germany.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side will start the tournament as one of the favourites and will hope to get off to the perfect start.
They are based in the town of Herzogenaurach, which means they have to travel twice as far to reach Munich for the opener.
However, after that, Scotland’s opponents all have shorter journeys than the Tartan Army.
Switzerland are based in Stuttgart and will travel nearly 200 miles fewer for their group clash.
Scotland then face Hungary in Stuttgart, and the Magyars only have to travel 125 miles from Weiler im Allgau, while Scotland have a slightly longer commute.
