A month has flown by since NASCAR legend Ray Evernham and ex-NASCAR team bigwig Rob Kauffman turned heads by snapping up the iconic International Race of Champions (IROC) brand. Since dropping that bombshell, chatter has mostly buzzed around how this new venture stacks up against the SRX Series, with updates few and far between. Back in the day, the International Race of Champions (IROC) was where the rubber met the road, bringing together the crème de la crème of drivers from all corners of the racing world to duke it out in 12 equally tuned stock cars. From 1973 to 2006, this arena was the battleground for racing royalty, with names like Dale Earnhardt, Mark Martin, Tony Stewart, Al Unser Jr, A.J. Foyt, and Mario Andretti lighting up the track in their Chevy Camaros, Pontiac Firebirds, and Dodge Avengers.
