Jan Frodeno heading to Bavaria after Challenge Roth “FOMO”

Epic triathlon adventures await with Challenge Family

LEARN MORE

Three-time IRONMAN World Champion Jan Frodeno has announced that despite not being on the start list for Challenge Roth, he will be making his way to Bavaria, albeit in a slightly different capacity.

Along with former professional Belinda Granger, Frodeno will co-host the broadcast in Germany, whilst also taking the time to hand out medals to the masses in the age-group fields.

Having finished fourth twice so far this season, first at the PTO Tour European Open in Ibiza and then at IRONMAN Hamburg in Germany, Frodeno’s name is on the start list for IRONMAN 70.3 Andorra, but the PTO Tour US Open is the next confirmed race on his calendar.

“Of course I have some FOMO”

With training and racing seemingly progressing in the right direction at the moment, Frodeno explained that whilst things are going really well, he couldn’t stop himself from jumping at the chance to go to Roth in some capacity.

“Things are going really well, but of course I am having a little bit of FOMO regarding Roth this weekend, so I am very excited to announce I will be co-hosting the live broadcast along with Belinda Granger.

“Please dear BG, let me get a word in, I know it’s my first time and I feel really comfortable being a rookie next to you. I am looking forward to calling the race out live as it unfolds and cheering on my fellow pro competitors.

“I am looking forward to a great weekend of triathlon fun in the home of it all, Challenge Roth, have a great time everyone and hopefully I will see you out there.”

What’s next?

After Challenge Roth, Frodeno could take in IRONMAN 70.3 Andorra, with the German recently added to the start list for the race in his second home.

After that, the former Olympic champion will head to Milwaukee for the PTO US Open in August, before the IRONMAN World Championships in Nice on September 10.

The modern-day great has announced that this will be his “last year of full professional racing”.
