That vest has since disappeared despite Day making the cut and playing through to the weekend.
On Saturday, Day confirmed that Augusta National Golf Clubn asked him to take off the vest.

“Respectfully, you do that because it’s all about the tournament here, and I understand that,” Day said, per Alex Myers of Golf Digest.
“I respect the tournament. That’s what we’re here to do is try and play and win the green jacket.”
The first round of action at the Masters got off to a late start Thursday due to inclement weather, so Day and others were forced to finish their first rounds on Friday when the action was called for darkness.
A chilly Friday morning called for heavier clothing, and Day broke out the vest. But its lifespan didn’t last long at the Masters.
Day said he wasn’t given a reason for the request but he respectfully complied after the ask was made.
As for why he wore it, Day said: “Yeah, they send you the scripting and say, this is what we want you to wear Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and I’m like, okay.”
Day won’t be wearing that vest anymore, at least not at Augusta. As for the tournament, Day made the cut, an accomplishment in itself when nasty and windy conditions led to many stars and past champions going home early.
He finished Saturday’s third round at eight over for the tournament.
