Jermall Charlo has revealed that his children are getting bullied at school in the wake of his brother Jermell Charlo’s defeat to Canelo Alvarez.

The kids’ uncle Jermell has come in for a great deal of criticism over the nature of his performance, as he offered little and was comprehensively beaten on points by the Mexican.

To his credit, the American undisputed super-welterweight (154lbs) world champion did jump up two weight divisions for the fight, but admittedly this is a difficult counter-argument to make if you’re an eight-year-old on a school playground.

As a result, Jermall said on Instagram live Wednesday: “My kids are hating to go to school right now.

“They don’t wanna go to school because everybody keeps trying to bully them because their uncle lost. That’s crazy…

“They’re trying to bully my kids because their uncle lost.

“But at the end of the day, it’s boxing, you win some, you lose some and I’m down with everything.”

Charlo then instructed his children, who were with him during his Instagram live stream, to retaliate if provoked.

He continued: “If any one of your kids touch my kids, I’m gonna tell my kids to go ahead and snap on y’all.

“Snap on them, they get tweaking, snap on them. Go and get your lick back.”

Charlo concluded by confirming his intentions to soon fight Canelo Alvarez himself.

He said: “Canelo what’s up man, I’ll see you soon.”
