Kane still keen on move
Harry Kane is still hopeful of completing a summer transfer to Manchester United. The England captain has been a long-term target for the Red Devils and Erik ten Hag even made him the club’s number one priority for the summer window. However, United have been put off by Daniel Levy’s insistence of demanding £100 million for Kane, so have switched targets.
The Mail reveals: “United have made it clear that they will not do business at £100m for a player who turns 30 next month and only has one year left on his contract at Spurs. The club have ended their interest in Kane for now and moved on to more attainable targets like Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.

“A price closer to £80m could tempt United back to the negotiating table, however, with manager Erik ten Hag preferring to sign a striker with a proven track record in the Premier League.
“Kane’s clear preference is United and he hopes that Levy will relent rather than have to write off £80m.”
Man Utd battle Real Madrid for Dimarco
Manchester United and Real Madrid could take advantage of Inter Milan’s financial pressures and launch a summer swoop for wing-back Federico Dimarco. Both clubs believe they could sign Dimarco for a cut-price fee as Inter face pressure to sell this summer due to financial restrictions.
The Independent states: “Manchester United and Real Madrid have both spoken to Inter about wing-back Federico Dimarco, as the Serie A club face huge pressure to sell this summer.
“While he has been a left wing-back for Inter, Ten Hag thinks he use the player in a few different ways as he seeks to deepen the variability and speed of his squad next season. There is also the possibility that [Luke] Shaw could play even more at centre-half.”
For Real Madrid, “Florentino Perez declared their business complete with [Joselu], an issue has arisen at left-back as Eduardo Camavinga wants to fight for his place in midfield.”
Arsenal’s £200m transfer plans
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is preparing a £200-million summer spending spree, starting with Declan Rice – despite the fact that the Gunners have seen two bids rejected by West Ham United. Arsenal are looking to strengthen throughout their squad, but will look to complete their summer business early as they prepare a third bid for Rice.
The Independent reports: “Arsenal will go back in with another bid and the feeling is they are getting closer as Mikel Arteta wants business done and his squad set before the summer tour.
“Should they be successful, Arteta could well oversee over £200m of expenditure, as the club aims to bring in Rice, Chelsea’s Kai Havertz, Southampton’s Romeo Lavia and Ajax’s Jurrien Timber.
“Some of that will be offset by sales, as Arsenal are prepared to listen to offers for a few players, including Kieran Tierney, Thomas Partey and then one of Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun, with the Gunners eager to keep one as cover in attack.”
Newcastle launch Tonali bid
Newcastle United have submitted a €50-million bid for AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali as Eddie Howe looks to bring in some new faces in midfield this summer. The Magpies are looking to add some quality and depth to their squad as the club looks to compete in the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.
The Athletic writes: “Eddie Howe is seeking reinforcements after securing Champions League football next season and has targeted Tonali, who is also attracting interest from Chelsea.
“Midfield is a priority, with Howe planning to push Bruno Guimaraes higher up the pitch, and Tonali’s tactical flexibility appeals.
“Newcastle are also keen on Leicester’s James Maddison if they can strike a deal at the right price.”
