Despite being linked with a potential exit from Arsenal, left-back Kieran Tierney has expressed his happiness at the club and says that his future is not entirely in his hands. Tierney had a limited role last season, starting only six Premier League matches, but he remains committed and ready to contribute whenever called upon.

Tierney has acknowledged that he cannot expect to be selected for every game at a big club. Despite falling down the pecking order last season, Tierney remains committed to the club and has not spoken to manager Mikel Arteta about his situation. He emphasizes that he always gives his best, whether on the field or coming off the bench, and is focused on performing at his highest level.

Tierney comments on Arsenal future

With the presence of Oleksandr Zinchenko and the further addition of Jurrien Timber from Ajax this summer, Tierney admits that gametime could come difficult for him but has stated that he is pleased with the current situation and will continue to fight for a spot in the Arsenal starting lineup.

Speaking on his future at the club, the Scot said: “It’s not really up to me. I’m happy, I’m working hard every day and getting minutes. I’m just trying to do as well as I can.”

Asked if he had spoken to manager Mikel Arteta about his situation, he said: “No.”

He continued: “You can’t play every single game, every single season, every single year. I don’t expect that and I still made a lot of appearances last year.”

“I was ready every game and working 100 per cent. I think everyone in there would agree with that, that I never give less than that whether I’m playing or not.”

“In the games I did play I tried to do my best for the team. I came off the bench a lot last season, whether that was to see games out or help get a goal.”

Tierney remains a valuable asset for Arsenal

Kieran Tierney joined Arsenal from Celtic in 2019 and is currently under contract until 2026. Despite transfer speculations linking him to clubs like Newcastle and his former club Celtic, Tierney’s future at Arsenal remains secure.

The left-back has made it clear that he is working hard and focused on doing his best for the team whenever called upon, signaling his commitment to the club.
