Las Vegas Raiders rookies among 5 placed on PUP list for training camp

The Las Vegas Raiders saw the rest of the team report for training camp on Tuesday after their rookies reported on Sunday. And, with that, the team placed three players on the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

According to the league’s transactions wire, the Raiders put guard and second-round pick Jackson Powers-Johnson, linebacker Darien Butler and UDFA offensive lineman Jacob Johanning on the PUP list. All three players can be removed from the list at any time.

Powers-Johnson is the most significant name on the list, as he’s vying for a starting role at left guard in 2024. The Oregon product left an OTAs practice back in May early with a shoulder injury and did not see the field again for the rest of the offseason program.

Butler was also absent during the offseason program, but Johanning did manage to take part in spring practices. Butler is rehabbing from a serious knee injury suffered last preseason, and Johanning has an unspecified lower-body injury, according to Tristen Kuhn of TWSN.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, left tackle Kolton Miller was not among those placed on the PUP list. The veteran offensive lineman did not take part in the spring practices as he was rehabbing from offseason shoulder surgery.

Head coach Antonio Pierce did not provide much of an update on Miller during his media availability on Tuesday. Pierce noted that Miller looks good but could not say whether or not he’d be able to participate in contact drills.

The Raiders will hold their first practice of training camp on Wednesday. You can check out the entire training camp schedule right here.
