Scotland will secure their place at Euro 2024 if Norway fail to beat Spain in qualifying on Sunday evening.
Steve Clarke’s side have been in fine form throughout the qualification campaign so far and currently sit top of Group A, having won five of their six matches.
Last time out, Scotland succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Spain, in turn missing out on the chance to secure qualification for the tournament next year.
With the game goalless, midfielder Scott McTominay looked to have put the visitors ahead with a stunning free-kick, before VAR intervened and ruled the goal out.
The Manchester United midfielder has been instrumental to Clarke’s side’s recent success, scoring six goals in as many games to propel Scotland to the brink of qualification.
Now, United’s stance on the player’s future has been revealed.
According to 90min, the Manchester club are in no rush to sell the Scot, but would allow him to leave if their valuation of him is met.
McTominay, 26, is a product of the Red Devils’ youth academy and has made a total of 215 appearances for the club across all competitions.
The midfielder proved his worth to Erik ten Hag’s side last time out, scoring twice in added time to complete a remarkable late comeback and earn United a crucial victory against Brentford.
In total the Scotsman has scored 21 goals and provided three assists for his club, but he has primarily played a bit-part role in recent seasons.
He competes with the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Sofyan Amrabat for a place in Ten Hag’s side, and the Scotland international has started just two of United’s eight Premier League matches so far this term.
The player’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025.
