Man Utd confident over Hojlund transfer as Bayern fly in to continue Kane deal talks

Man Utd confident over Hojlund

The Telegraph reports that Manchester United believe they can negotiate a deal for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

The paper explains: “Manchester United are confident Erik ten Hag can fulfil Rasmus Hojlund’s full potential as they prepare to gamble on the Denmark striker rather than move for Harry Kane.

“Talks with Atalanta over Hojlund are advancing, with United quietly optimistic they can strike a deal with the Italian club in time for their opening game of the new Premier League season, against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford on August 14.

“United are proposing a total package worth €60 million (£51.4 million), with £42.8 million payable upfront and a further £8.6 million in add-ons. Atalanta want more but United hope to reach a compromise and are clear they will not pay more than £60 million for the 20-year-old.”

Gremio will not sell Inter Miami target Suarez

Brazilian side Gremio have decided that they will not sell Luis Suarez to Inter Miami, despite earlier setting a transfer fee of $10 million.

“It was rumoured that Suarez had requested Gremio’s permission to join his former Barcelona team-mates Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and possibly Andres Iniesta, at Inter Miami,” reports Spanish newspaper Marca.

“However, the contractual situation posed a challenge, as Suarez is bound to the Brazilian team until the end of 2024.

“Gremio insisted on respecting the contract, especially since they had invested in Suarez following his time at Nacional, where he was preparing for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“Initially, Gremio had demanded approximately $10 million as compensation to release Suarez, but it has now been officially confirmed that he will remain in Brazil until the end of 2023.”

Bayern fly in for more Kane talks

The Mirror claims that Bayern Munich representatives are in England in order to continue negotiations for Tottenham forward Harry Kane.

“Bayern Munich executives have flown into London to meet Daniel Levy as they look to finally seal a deal for Tottenham’s Harry Kane,” the paper writes.

“The Bavarians want the England star to add some much-needed firepower to their ranks this summer. Tottenham have already rejected several bids from the German champions but Levy will now meet with new chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and the technical director Marco Neppe.

“The striker, who enjoyed another sensational year in the Premier League, is out of contract in 12 months’ time and Levy has been told by Tottenham’s owners that he cannot allow Kane to leave for nothing and he must be sold if a new contract cannot be agreed.

“That is a major boost to Bayern’s hopes and the Telegraph reports that those in Germany see it as significant that dialogue between the Bavarians and Tottenham has continued with Dreesen reportedly meeting Levy in London just a fortnight ago.

“Bayern are willing to pay up to £86m to land Kane, which is likely to fall short of Tottenham’s valuation. The Bundesliga champions are also confident that, should they miss out this summer, they can secure the striker’s services in January when he can sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club ahead of a move next summer.”

Chelsea make new Caicedo offer

Chelsea have upped their offer for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo by making a new bid of £80 million, but it has already been rejected claims The Sun.

The paper reports: “The Blues are said to have offered £80 million to try and seal the deal.

“The Seagulls are holding out on their £100m valuation of the midfielder.

“Chelsea’s latest offer is an improvement of £10m from their last offer.

“Caicedo, 21, appeared to smirk when asked by fans about a Chelsea move while signing autographs during Brighton’s pre-season.”
