United prepared to sell Sancho ‘on the cheap’

Manchester United are prepared to sell Jadon Sancho “on the cheap” in the January transfer window.

The report states “United will look to cut their losses on someone who cost them £73m when he joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

“United would look to sell him to the highest bidder in the January transfer window,” the article continues, adding former club Dortmund “have ruled out taking Sancho back”.

Sancho has been training away from the first team after being excluded from the squad as United lost 3-1 to Arsenal earlier this month, with Erik ten Hag saying that his training performances had been below standard.

Spurs to trigger extension on Son deal

Tottenham will “spare themselves another summer of uncertainty over their star player by triggering an option to extend the contract of Son Heung-min”, claims the Telegraph.

Son’s existing deal is due to expire at the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign, but – according to the report, Spurs hold an option to extend it by at least a further year that they will take up.

The report adds: “It means Son is effectively committed to Tottenham until 2026 at the earliest. Although the option has not yet been triggered and is unlikely to be imminently, the expectation and intention of both the club and the South Korean is that it will be.

“Spurs may even wait until the end of the season to formally trigger the option over 31-year-old Son, as the club are so relaxed over his future and do not need to distract him at all in the meantime.”

Jota could get ‘quick-fire exit’ from Al-Ittihad

Jota left the Scottish champions just over two months ago in a deal reported to be worth up to £25m.

“The 24-year-old has endured a torrid time in the Middle East as his £25m move quickly turned sour as he currently finds himself unable to play until January after failing to make the foreign player quota cut with the Saudi champions,” states the report.

“Jota was fed a series of pleasantries but rumours of his status were proved true when he carpeted out of their final squad until January. And now Jota appears ready to take things into his own hands as he aims to get round the table with the option of a quick-fire exit on the table.”

Al-Ittihad also signed Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Fabinho in the summer.
