Four Manchester United players, including captain Bruno Fernandes, were reportedly involved in a dressing room bust-up after Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Four Manchester United players were reportedly involved in a dressing room bust-up after Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
The Red Devils were condemned to their third league loss of the new season in disappointing fashion courtesy of goals from former striker Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro, with Erik ten Hag’s side booed off at the full-time whistle.
Man United already find themselves languishing in 13th place in the Premier League table, sitting nine points behind league leaders and bitter rivals Manchester City after five matches.
Former defender Gary Neville has raised questions over the quality of Ten Hag’s squad and has claimed that there are “bugs” in the dressing room creating “discomfort and uncertainty”.
According to The Sun, Man United captain Bruno Fernandes was one of a quartet of players who were involved in a heated exchange following the loss to Brighton.
Fernandes, who replaced Harry Maguire as club captain earlier this summer, is claimed to have confronted fellow midfielder Scott McTominay, while tempers are also said to have flared between centre-backs Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof.

Ten Hag, who allegedly tried to restore order in the dressing room, is already having to deal with a number of off-field issues at the club that have unsurprisingly disrupted the first-team squad at the beginning of this season.
Following the departure of Mason Greenwood – who had all criminal charges of alleged attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour against him dropped earlier this year – on loan to Getafe earlier this summer, Man United are now having to cope without fellow wingers Antony and Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils announced earlier this month that Antony will not represent the club ‘until further notice’ amid allegations of assault made against him.
Sancho, meanwhile, is facing an uncertain future at the club after being banished from first-team training following his social media fall-out with Ten Hag.
The 23-year-old, who was dropped for the loss at Arsenal three weeks ago, is allegedly refusing to apologise to Ten Hag after claiming that he has been made “a scapegoat” at the club and that the Dutchman’s comments over his poor performances in training were “completely untrue”.
While both Antony and Sancho will not be involved for Man United in Wednesday’s Champions League group-stage opener against Bayern Munich, it remains to be seen whether Fernandes, McTominay, Martinez and Lindelof will feature in the matchday squad for the trip to the Allianz Arena following the alleged bust-up.
