Manchester United welcome Burnley to Old Trafford this afternoon aiming to make it consecutive wins and end the season strongly.
The Red Devils were forced to come from behind twice against bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United last time out before going on to win 4-2.

That underwhelming performance followed another in the FA Cup against Coventry, leaving the pressure piled on Erik ten Hag despite back-to-back victories.
Vincent Kompany’s Clarets are the next side to visit Old Trafford and could shock United as they continue to fight for their lives.

talkSPORT understands that Ten Hag and his Man United players will be forced to take pay cuts for not reaching the Champions League.
The Dutchman has it written into his contract that his wages will be slashed by as much as 25 per cent for failing to deliver a top-four finish.

The majority of the United squad will also be hit in the pocket in an effort to make success or failure on the pitch a collective effort.
It also means Ten Hag would be entitled to a smaller compensation package if the club decide to part company with their manager at the end of the season.
The Red Devils are currently sixth and 14 points off Aston Villa in the Champions League places with five games to play.
So they are all set to be hit with a major reduction to their pay once the campaign ends.

Burnley have won six points from their eight Premier League games against Manchester United at Old Trafford (W1 D3 L4), more than they have in nine against them at Turf Moor in the competition (5: W1 D2 L6).
Manchester United have lost just one of their last 16 Premier League games against Burnley (W10 D5) and have scored exactly three goals in all four of their home wins against the Clarets in the competition.

Marcus Rashford is a doubt for United after he missed their midweek win over Sheffield United due to an injury picked up in the FA Cup semi-final.
He will be aiming to make a return and if fit, he is expected to replace Antony on the wing.
Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane could make a comeback but Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount and Victor Lindelof remain sidelined.
As for Burnley, Lyle Foster was substituted with a knock last time out but he is not likely to miss out this afternoon.
Aaron Ramsey, Nathan Redmond, Jordan Beyer and Ameen Al-Dakhil are all still out.

Burnley have won just one of their last 32 Premier League games against sides to finish in the top four the previous season (D4 L27), beating Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield in January 2021. Since that victory, the Clarets are winless in 18 such games (D2 L16), losing the last nine in a row.
Nine of the 11 goals Manchester United have conceded against Burnley in the Premier League have come in home games. Of all teams to concede 10+ against another in the competition, this is the highest share to have been conceded in home games (82%).

Ten Hag called for his team to cut out their errors after being forced to come back from behind twice in their win over Sheffield United.
He said: “The team showed resilience and it is not easy when you are losing the game against a compact team, as Sheffield United was.
“We outplayed them, we were calm, didn’t let them run and we created a lot of chances.
“We can’t keep making such mistakes, and the top level if you want to achieve your targets, if you want to win trophies, then you have to stop this process.
“We have to keep the focus, you can’t allow these mistakes. Because you make your life easier when you don’t make mistakes.”

Burnley have only lost one of their last seven Premier League games (W2 D4). With their 4-1 win at Sheffield United last time out, they’re looking to win consecutive top-flight away games for the first time since May 2021.
Manchester United have never lost a Premier League home game against the previous season’s second tier champions, winning 24 and drawing seven of their 31 such games.
