Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Salomon have been their three summer signings thus far.
Van de Ven is now set to be the first defender to put pen to paper on a deal at the north London side in the transfer window.
Spurs are set to pay Wolfsburg around £40million for the centre back, who can also play as a left-back.
Despite being just 22-years-old, Van de Ven will arrive at the club with lots of first-team experience to his name.
He has made 41 appearances for the Bundesliga side, with 36 of those coming last season.
The defender, who was also linked with Liverpool, has also featured 11 times for the Netherlands’ U21 side.
Spurs may look to bring in another addition for the backline, with Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen also linked.
Postecoglou will be hoping to take the north London side back to European football next season after they finished 8th last term.
With no continental football in the upcoming campaign, their squad are set to be more refreshed each week, which could boost their chances of reaching the top seven.
They conceded 68 goals in the Premier League last season, with defensive reinforcements clearly needed this summer.
However, Van de Ven could be the man to change their fortunes at the back as they undergo another rebuild.
