New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo and his opposite number for the Philadelphia Eagles, Nick Sirianni, have discussed staging a joint practice on the Pats’ home turf this offseason, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
The two teams have played just 16 times across the regular season and playoffs. They most recently met last September, with Philly spoiling Tom Brady’s jersey retirement and earning a 25-20 victory on the road. The Eagles seem to be in the habit of ruining big moments for Brady.

Reiss reported Mayo “prefers just a single practice, in part to limit fighting that can sometimes become prevalent on a second day.”
Philadelphia and New England each saw tempers boil over during joint practices last summer. A workout with the Eagles and Colts got a little too physical, while the same thing happened between the Patriots and Green Bay Packers.
Per Reiss, Philadelphia and New England would eye an inter-squad practice if they’re paired up in the preseason.
