Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick is reportedly a popular name at the NFL Scouting Combine this week as teams have already begun exploring ways to improve their roster before free agency opens next month.

Per Jeff McLane ofthe Philadelphia Inquirer, “teams have already reached out to the Eagles about” potentially trading for Reddick.

The 29-year-old is entering the final season of a three-year, $45 million contract he signed with Philadelphia as a free agent before the 2022 campaign. McLane noted that his unhappiness with his contract dates back to last offseason.

“Reddick never said he wanted a new deal last summer, but he had a ‘quasi’ holdout at the start of training camp, sources said, when he missed two days with a groin injury,” McLane wrote. “And when he returned and was asked about his average annual salary vs. other edge rushers—he currently ranks 16th, per overthecap.com—he said, ‘Y’all see it, y’all know what’s going on.'”

This month, reports surfaced that Reddick had received permission from Philadelphia to seek a trade. However, he denied that notion:

Never asked for a trade. However, I do understand it’s a business. Preparing for whatever is next! https://t.co/KwNaAUl7HO

Reddick recorded 11 sacks in 2023, his fourth straight season finishing with more than 10 sacks. While speaking to reporters at the combine, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was coy about contract discussions, but he doled out massive praise for Reddick.

“I’d say this: Haason, obviously, an unbelievable player for the Philadelphia Eagles,” Roseman said. “Local kid, great success story. Camden, Temple, Philly. Love having Haason. I think that anything you’re trying to do, you’re trying to blend what you’re trying to do this year and what you’re trying to do in the future. I think that’s the hardest job. Don’t want to get into any specifics with any conversations with players but have tremendous respect for the player and person.”
