What happened last year has been a major talking point this summer around the Philadelphia Eagles.
But at least one player is sick and tired of hearing about the past.
Said player is Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata, who got quite animated at training camp this week when asked about the topic.
“I’m god—- tired talking about last year. I’m tired, I’ll be honest. I’m looking forward. We can only learn so much from last year and we learned a lot,” Mailata said, according to PHLY’s Zach Berman. “The direction we’re going now is forward. We gotta do that this year. Talk is cheap, but I have a really good feeling about our offense this year and our defense. If everyone can please stop talking about last year, that’d be nice.”
It’s actually a nice bit of vocal leadership and a solid theme for the team. But Mailata’s wish won’t prevent the droves of questions after last year’s historic collapse despite the 10-1 start.
In fact, one of the biggest storylines right now centers on Jalen Hurts’ comments about his relationship with Nick Sirianni.
Until the Eagles show in live action that last year won’t impact this season, the questions will continue.
