The darker uniform has a red base with white outlines and blue sides while the lighter uniform features a white base with blue sides and blue and red outlines.
These are a departure from past U.S. uniforms, which had a much more blue base. Now, blue is the third most prominent color in the scheme while red takes a big step forward.
Both the men’s and women’s teams are currently ranked No. 1 in the world by FIBA. The men’s team has won four consecutive Olympic golds while the women’s team has won seven in a row.
Both team’s, and their new uniforms, will be on full display when the Olympics begin in late July. The men’s team’s tournament will begin July 28 when it takes on Serbia while the women will open up tournament play on July 29 against Japan.
