As a result, the revamped guidelines has led to referees dishing out more yellow cards at this stage of a season than ever before.
Any Premier League player who racks up five cautions inside the first 19 league games will be suspended for one match.
Matchday 19 is again over the festive period, with most teams in action on Boxing Day, before a slight reprieve comes in 2024.
Players who accumulate double-figure bookings before, and including, the 32nd game of the season will be suspended for a further two games.
But due to the new stricter rules, expect stars to fall foul sooner rather than later, with some already walking a thin line…
Premier League yellow cards: Who is near a suspension?
Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson was the first man to serve a suspension after picking up five yellow cards.
27 more players have since been banned too.
And the latest to serve a one-game suspension will be Frank Onyeka and Destiny Udogie.
And 38 other players have been shown four yellows so far and could be set for a spell out soon.
