PSG expect Mbappe to join Real Madrid after Al Hilal snub

PSG expect Mbappe deal next year

Kylian Mbappe has turned down Al Hilal after making it clear he will not renew his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, while the Telegraph reports that PSG are convinced that the French international will join Real Madrid next season.

The paper writes: “Kylian Mbappe has turned down his proposed £260 million switch to Saudi Arabia, with sources close to talks increasingly convinced he has agreed terms to join Real Madrid next year.

“The forward is said to have refused discussion with Al-Hilal representatives who were expected in France after being given permission by Paris Saint-Germain to contact him.

“His immediate answer comes amid as insiders say Mbappe remains determined to realise his dream of moving to Real Madrid in 11 months time when he can leave PSG as a free agent.

“His current club are known to have suspected for some time that he has already agreed to join Real Madrid for free next summer. Talks with Madrid would be likely to revolve around whether the Spaniards can afford a deal to land their long-term target during the current transfer window.”

Man Utd lead chase for Hojlund

Manchester United remain favourites to sign Rasmus Hojlund after he turned down Paris Saint-Germain.

However the Premier League side and his current club Atalanta remain far apart on valuation.

The Mirror states: “Rasmus Hojlund has agreed to join Manchester United and has turned down a late approach from Paris Saint-Germain – despite their offer of a greater financial package.

“The Atalanta striker is set to become United’s third arrival of the summer. Attack-minded midfielder Mason Mount completed his move to Old Trafford earlier in the window before the club also moved to sign goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan.

“The Serie A club believe they can attain a fee of £80million for the striker but it is thought that this public stance is at odds with their own valuation of the player, with United making it clear from the start that they will not bid above £60m.”

Roma target Calvert-Lewin

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be the latest Premier League player to make the switch to Serie A,.

The Everton forward is wanted by Roma, who need a long-term alternative to the injured Tammy Abraham.

“Jose Mourinho wants a striker to replace the injured Tammy Abraham and he likes the look of Calvert-Lewin,” writes The Sun.

“The Everton ace has experienced injury issues of his own but he would be a like-for-like replacement for Abraham.

“It is believed Calvert-Lewin would be open to the switch following the success of other former Premier League stars at Roma, including Abraham and Chris Smalling.”

Chelsea lead race for Kudus

Mohammed Kudus is wanted by both Chelsea and Arsenal, with the Mail suggesting that Mauricio Pochettino’s side is leading the way.

According to the paper, “Chelsea are thought to be winning the race to sign Ajax star Mohammed Kudus for £40m, beating London rivals Arsenal to the deal.

“The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who has been at Dutch club Ajax since 2020, represented Ghana at last year’s World Cup, which added to his admirers around the globe.

“Chelsea have been in a position to offer more clarity on a price to Ajax – thought to be in the region of £40m – and what they would pay Kudus in wages.

“Kudus almost joined Everton last season, but now looks likely to come into Pochettino’s revamped Chelsea side.

“Chelsea require new players to replace those who have left this summer, such as Kai Havertz and Mason Mount.”
