Paris Saint-Germain are set to earn €300 million for Kylian Mbappe with whom their relationship has deteriorated.

The 24-year-old French forward is intent on leaving the club for his dream club Real Madrid after seven years following the expiration of his contract. The club, on the other hand, were looking to try and convince him to sign another mega-money deal which they used to get him to renew his old contract in 2022.

Now, the forward’s actions have led the club to see an exit as the only solution to their issue.

Madrid, who are the only club capable of matching PSG’s price for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, are observing keenly, with reports claiming that they have already agreed personal terms with Mbappe. This led PSG to put him on the market and Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia to make an offer.

The Saudi Pro League side, who are still licking their wounds after losing Lionel Messi to the MLS franchise Inter Miami, are looking to bring in a big star to match their rivals Al-Nassr, who brought in Cristiano Ronaldo last December. Now, they are close to getting the heir to the throne of both the Portugal and Argentina superstars, albeit for one season.

Reports indicate that they have agreed with PSG on a €300 million fee and have been granted permission to speak to Mbappe and his entourage over the move.

They are believed to be offering the 2022 FIFA World Cup golden boot winner a staggering €700 million contract for just one season at the club. After that, he will be allowed to move to Real Madrid for free.

That amount is €500 million more than what Ronaldo will earn at Al-Nassr yearly.

Meanwhile, Mbappe seems to be calm about the whole situation, finding time to laugh at a joke which NBA star Giannis Antetokoumpo shared on the social media platform, Twitter.

The basketball player who bears a resemblance to the French forward tweeted, “Al Hilal you can take me. I look like Kylian Mbappe,” accompanied by laughing emojis. Mbappe, who had not posted to his Twitter since 30 June, replaced the post with laughing emojis of his own.

The next few weeks will see more development in the story as Premier League sides have also been reported to be interested in throwing their hat in the ring for the forward.

Cash and player swap deals are being mentioned with respect to the English clubs in question but it is unlikely that PSG will accept players for Mbappe.
