Rangers confirm the signing of Brazilian striker Danilo from Eredivisie champions Feyenoord on a five-year deal, subject to international clearance.
Rangers have announced the signing of Brazilian striker Danilo from Feyenoord, subject to international clearance.
The 24-year-old has penned a five-year contract with the Gers and moves to Ibrox in a deal believed to be worth up to £6m.
Danilo will wear the No.99 shirt and has become Michael Beale’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Jack Butland, Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers and Leon Balogun.
Speaking to Rangers’ official website after completing his transfer to Ibrox, Danilo said: “I’m super happy. I can’t wait to start playing at Ibrox in front of the supporters.
“I am so in love already with the club and I’m excited to be part of the Rangers team. It’s time to get to work and I hope that I can repay the love that they have shown to me.”

Beale added: “Danilo is a player that I have personally been aware of since his time at Ajax. He had a breakthrough year on loan at FC Twente and then back at Ajax before joining Feyenoord last summer.
“He has won the Dutch title in both of the last two seasons and his goal per minute ratio is very good. He is an exciting player who likes to create and score goals, he is one that I believe is a good fit for our squad and he will give us another big option in the attacking areas of the pitch.
“The discussions were ongoing for some time, so I am delighted that we finally have him at our club. Danilo really wanted this move and has a strong belief in the plan that we have for him and for the team moving forward – this was key in the negotiations as he really pushed to join Rangers. We wish him every success here at Rangers.”
Rangers have confirmed that Danilo will travel to Germany with his new teammates on Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s friendly against Hoffenheim at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.

Born in Sao Paulo, Danilo began his career in his native Brazil, representing Portuguesa, Corinthians, Ponte Preta, Vasco da Gama and Santos before joining Ajax’s academy in 2017.
The striker excelled at youth level for Ajax, scoring 31 goals in 51 games for the club’s Under-21s side, but he failed to establish himself as a first-team player, albeit scoring nine times in 20 senior appearances.
Danilo enjoyed a successful period on loan at FC Twente in the 2020-21 campaign, netting 17 goals in 34 games, before having to settle for a peripheral role at Ajax the following season.
The Brazilian left Ajax on a free transfer last summer to join Feyenoord, and he helped the Dutch club win their first Eredivisie title for six years after scoring 10 league goals in 34 matches, as well as netting six more goals across the Europa League and KNVB Beker.
Danilo will now embark on a fresh challenge in Scotland with Glaswegian giants Rangers, and he could make his competitive debut when the Gers travel to Kilmarnock for their opening Premiership match of the 2023-24 season on August 5.
