Manchester United winger Amad is the latest member of Erik ten Hag’s squad to answer your questions as part of our Fans’ Q&A series with Melitta.

The Ivorian recently sat down with us at Carrington to field the submissions sent into him by United supporters across the globe.

And in the special seven-minute feature, which you can read and watch in full below, Amad offers insight into the player and person he is, beginning by revealing the team-mates who have inspired him most during his career so far.

Fans’ Q&A: Amad Video

Fans’ Q&A: Amad

Fans’ Q&A | Amad answers your questions about his inspirations, style of play and what it means to represent United…

Gilang H. (Indonesia): Who is the team-mate you have looked up to the most during your career at Atalanta, United and Sunderland?
“There are so many players I had before, like when I was in Atalanta, I had Papu Gomez, Duvan Zapata. The player who is a big inspiration for me is Bruno Fernandes.”

Obeth R. (USA): If you had words of encouragement for others trying to make it pro, what would they be?
“I want to say you need to train hard, because it is the most important thing in football. You don’t need to put more things in your head, you train hard, and you wait your chance.”

James S. (USA): What is your favourite thing about England, especially Manchester?
“I like everything. I like football, I like to play for Manchester United because that was my dream when I was young, so I think my favourite thing about here is to play for Manchester United.”

Denley W. (UK): Who is the fastest player in the squad?
“I think Marcus Rashford is the fastest player at Manchester United.”

Jamie G. (UK): What is your favourite skill move?
“I like combinations with the strikers, and, when I have the ball, I like to give it to the strikers and to come inside.”

Benjamin K. (France): Have you played any futsal or indoor five-a-side?
“Five-a-side or futsal? I’ve never played them in my life, but I think maybe one day I try to play!”

Andrew T. (UK): If you had to pick a five-a-side team from players that you have played with, who would be in it?
“I would take Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, in the past I take [Josip] Ilicic. Defender, I would take Lisandro Martinez. Goalkeeper or no? Goalkeeper I take Andre Onana.”

Hafiswa J. (Uganda): How does it feel to be an African United player, and have fellow African players in the United squad with you?
“It’s good to have African players in the same squad, it’s really important to have players from Africa and to play African Cup together, so it’s very, very important to have the African players from other countries in the same team. It’s very important.”

Glenn T. (Ireland): Who is your favourite United player of all time?
“I want to say Wayne Rooney. He was very strong, he had a good vision for the goal, so he is my favourite player.”

Matthew J. (UK): Who inspired you to become a footballer when you were growing up?
“My family was with me every day, everywhere, so my family is important for me. When I was young, I watched Lionel Messi so much, so my family and also Messi because Messi inspired me a lot.”

Clifford O. (Nigeria): What do you like more? Scoring or assisting?
“Now I prefer to score.”

Mark C. (Ireland): Who were your non-footballing idols growing up?
“I would say my family.”

Turpal A. (Norway): What was your favourite moment at Sunderland?
“My favourite moment was the day when we played against Luton, and we beat them 2-1 in the play-offs. That was my best day in a Sunderland shirt.”

Francis C. (Nigeria): How do you feel when you put on this great club’s jersey? And how do you motivate yourself to work hard on a daily basis?
“I am really happy to put the Manchester United jersey on, this was my dream when I was young, so I am very, very happy. I want to train hard, to fight for my team when the manager puts me on the pitch and to take confidence off everyone.”

Noah W. (UK): If you had to choose one player to have dinner with, past or present, who would it be?
“I have already had dinner with Cristiano [Ronaldo] so I would say Rooney.”

James S. (UK): Who is the most difficult player to play against in training?
“Right now? Licha. Lisandro Martinez, yeah. He’s very strong in the training. For him, the training is like the Champions League final. He never trains easy, he goes stronger, so it’s harder to train against him.”

Philip K. (UK): What do you feel United can achieve this season?
“I don’t want to put more pressure on the team, but the most important games are coming now, so every game is like the Champions League final. We need to win every game to finish in the top four. So, I think in the end of the season, we fight for that place.”

Sebastian T. (Spain): What is your favourite United kit this season – the home, the away or the third?
“I think the white [third] one. I like so much the white one. So, my preference is the white one.”

Ruben G. (Portugal): What is your favourite goal United have scored this season?
“Alejandro Garnacho’s goal against Everton. That was a very beautiful goal, I like it so much. It was like Ronaldo’s goal against Juventus.”

Emmanuel N. (France): Who was your footballing idol growing up?
“Messi. Messi was always my idol, before and right now. So, I want to say Messi.”
