Malik Tillman has received plenty of European interest this summer but now reportedly looks set to move to the Dutch Eredivisie.
Dutch giants PSV are set to acquire Tillman on a season-loan spell from Bayern Munich, European outlet Sport1 reported. English Premier League side Sheffield United was also linked with Tillman this summer, but it looks like the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League could persuade Tillman to move to Holland, according to the report.
Tillman, 21, has remained with Bayern Munich’s first team ahead of the new Bundesliga season. He suffered a season-ending thigh injury while on loan with Scottish Premiership club Rangers last spring.
Tillman has made just seven senior appearances with Bayern, scoring once against Bremer SV in the 2021-22 German DFB Pokal.
Tillman enjoyed a stellar loan spell in Glasgow last season, registering 12 goals and five assists in 43 combined appearances under Giovanni Van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale. He earned several honors in Scotland, including being named to the SPFL and PFA Scotland Best XI teams, and earning SPFL and Rangers’ Young Player of the Year honors.
A former German youth national team player, Tillman switched his international allegiance to the USMNT last summer. He’s earned four caps with the USMNT across all competitions.
PSV acquired Tillman’s international teammate Ricardo Pepi earlier this summer from Augsburg. Pepi recently made his debut Friday in a 1-0 Dutch Super Cup victory over Feyenoord.
