From the moment it was announced that Blake Snell was going to be a part of their squad, the Bay Bombers have been on a high. While it may have taken till mid-March to acquire Snell, the Giants’ squad doesn’t care about the dealy. With the team aiming to return to the playoffs after two years of absence, Snell’s entry has proven to be a major mood lifter. With the clubhouse in great spirits, could this “push” to make the team great be working out?
As Blake Snell set in the Giants’ dugout for the first time, there was an air of celebration around the squad. As MLB.com reported, everyone knew just how big of a game-changer Snell could prove to be. Together with Logan Webb, the Giants may just have the best 1-2 punch in the National League. Giants’ veteran Mike Yastrzemski noted that Snell “should have been on a team months ago.”

Later he remarked that while it “doesn’t guarantee anything,” Snell’s signing was a positive sign for them. “We’re happy to see the front office is really making a push to make this team the best we can be. That’s a great addition,” Yastrzemski shared. The Giants’ pitcher Alex Cobb also revealed how he tried to convince Snell but during his free agency the ace remained “tight-lipped.”
Still, with the Giants looking stronger than ever, this offseason is proving to be a massive win for them. However, that has given rise to one question – who will start for the Bay Bombers on Opening Day?

Blake Snell – the final piece in Giants’ puzzle?
Despite past familiarity, skipper Bob Melvin announced that Logan Webb will be starting on Opening Day for the Giants. While it wasn’t much of a surprise, Melvin nonetheless made a joke, “I still haven’t told him that yet. So I hope he doesn’t read this article.”
The Bay Bombers’ improvement during this offseason has been remarkable. Before Snell, they added Jorge Soler, Matt Chapman, and Jung-Ho Lee. Now with the addition of Snellzilla, suddenly their lineup looks scary. With Alex Cobb and Robbie Ray set to return soon, the potential seems endless in this roster.
