Newbury betting tips
1.40: Jet Powered 7/1 (1pt)
Jet Powered seemed to still be underestimated for a horse trained by Nicky Henderson, who was 7/1 when tipped earlier this week but has now reached probably the limit of his value at around 4/1.
Adorning the Mrs J Donnelly colours, like Gaillard Du Mesnil or Shishkin, he has promise considering what was seen in his win in maiden company here in November 2022.
He was then a surprise fifth at 2/7 a month later on over the same course and distance and hasn’t been seen again yet.
Jet Powered was impressive on his two career wins and there’s got to be more to come with progression as a six-year-old for such a top yard.
2.15: Brentford Hope 11/4 (1pt)
This gelding was a big winner in the tips here in November as the 11/4 joint favourite, but won as though he was an odds-on shot, winning by 16 lengths ahead of ten other rivals.
It was an easier task and this is a much tougher one, especially against the likes of Under Control who already sets a dangerous standard based on earlier tips.
Winning in such a way against his rivals last time out the handicapper upped him 11lb, but that still won’t be enough to stop him.

This is a horse that placed well behind Gerri Colombe over 3m1f at Aintree in April and then came a decent second at Warwick’s Grade 2 in January.
He had a wind operation in the summer and returned on his seasonal debut to beat Might I, despite carrying close to a stone more, which has proven to boost his form.
He’s back up in trip now and could even improve more with a wind op likely helping his ability over this tougher stamina test.
Fairyhouse betting tips
2.35: Nusret (NB – 2pts)
Hasn’t been seen over hurdles since April’s Punchestown Festival, when placing behind Lossiemouth.
That form has worked out well and he’s also placed behind Zenta in his previous Grade 1 hurdle.
He will have to carry the most but based on his form he should still have enough to dispatch of his rivals.
Bangor betting tips
12.36: Issam (2pts – NAP)
Wasn’t disgraced a couple of weeks ago at Sandown when placing third behind Operation Manna.
That horse went on to win again nine days later as the odds-on favourite and won comfortably again.
That run speaks volumes as Issam was carrying a stone more while Operation Manna also had a 10lb claimer on board.
So that form really should translate well going into this, especially after his win on his final run last season in March, beating Keppage at Exeter.
2.21: Act Of Authority (1pt)
Was a respectable sixth place on his second hurdle race, which just so happened to be the Sky Bet Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2).
Won’t have many horses with better form coming into a race like this and it suggests even with the penalty, should find this comfortable.
