Fighters like former champion Sean Strickland leave no stone unturned when it comes to dishing out trash talk. However, fellow middleweight contender Roman Dolidze is not a fan of such acts. During a recent media day appearance, the Georgian fighter sounded off on such trash-talking acts and labeled those fighters child-like.

The 35-year-old Georgian fighter did not back down from speaking his mind ahead of his UFC Vegas 85 fight. With no disrespect towards his fellow middleweights, he mentioned that fighters like Sean Strickland often act like children whenever they have a microphone in their hands. Dolidze said, “All these guys are, most of them, I don’t wanna be disrespectful, but I will say in general, acting like kids, talking like kids.”
Meanwhile, Dolidze revealed that people from his native country operate differently. They do not go out and say whatever they want like Sean Strickland. Instead, there is a lot of thinking that takes place before people speak out about a variety of topics. “Where I am from [and] where I am raised, we think twice before we say something,” Roman Dolidze added. If that wasn’t enough, he also went on to explain how people should go about before opening their mouths to talk.

Dolidze claims that words need to have some value
The 35-year-old middleweight contender mentioned people should always intend to talk in a way where their words are valued by others. If they do not follow that notion, there are chances that other people may not value them or follow what they have to say. Dolidze further stated, “Your words need to have something [of value]. If you just say so many words, nobody will work for your words.”

Seeing some of his fellow contenders now, Roman Dolidze feels like they’re just kids, acting and saying things without any regard for how people might feel about it. However, he emphasized that this was the case only with a few fighters and not all of them. “I am just looking at them like they’re kids. Not everybody, but most [fighters],” the 35-year-old added.

Unlike some of the other fighters, Roman Dolidze is quite calm and collected and tends to choose his words wisely. Meanwhile, when it comes to his upcoming fight, the 35-year-old will be looking to edge past Nassourdine Imavov after a loss in his last fight. Dolidze was on a 4-fight winning streak before losing to Marvin Vettori. It remains to be seen if he can get back to his winning ways this weekend.
