A certain Al Ahly star has been linked with a surprise move away from the club in the January transfer window.
Mali international Aliou Dieng has been a staple in the Al Ahly side four the past three years, but has now been linked with a departure.

According to Qatari publication Al Raya, Qatar SC are said to be interested in signing the 26-year-old, who has racked up 15 appearances this campaign.
Dieng has been with the Egyptian Red Devils since 2019 after making the move from MC Algiers and has gone on to establish himself as a key figure in the club’s success in recent years.
The report adds that Qatar are looking for a replacement for Bashar Rasan, but they face competition from certain Belgian teams and other clubs in the Gulf.
During his three-year stay in Cairo, the Malian midfielder has managed notch up 203 appearances while winning 13 trophies, including three CAF Champions League titles.
Al Ahly have already lost one player to the Qatar Stars League, after the influential Hamdi Fathi joined Al Wakrah before the start of the season.
