While his future remains a topic of hot debate, Pitso Mosimane continues to expand his schools programme, which has now managed to reach new heights.

Curro Holdings has announced the extension of the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools Programme (PMSS) to 10 additional schools within the group. The ambitious expansion comes after the programme has successfully scored its way through the pilot phase at two Curro schools in 2023.
Mosimane expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion, stating, “Our programme was piloted in two Curro Academy Schools in 2023. Trophies were won and good performances were shown, however, it was the learner numbers that increased at every training session and their enthusiasm that showed that our age appropriate training approach is a success,” Mosimane said in a statement.
“Hearing reports from the Executive Heads on how children’s attitudes and behaviour had been positively changed as a result of PMSS was the indication we needed to know we are on the correct path to create that player of tomorrow. Expanding to more schools in 2024 means we can reach more children, this excites me and fills me with hope.”
The 10 new schools, which will adopt Mosimane’s programme include Curro Academy Protea Glen, Curro Academy Parkdene, Curro Academy Riverside, Curro Academy Clayville, Curro Academy The Blyde, Curro Academy Mamelodi, Curro Academy Pretoria, Curro Academy Soshanguve and Curro Academy Savana City, Curro Academy Mahikeng, Curro Meridian Cosmo City and Curro Northern Academy.

Speaking on behalf of Meridian Schools at Curro Holdings, Business Executive Fergus Sampson, shared their delight of the success of the programme in its first year, which has led to the decision to expand.
“We believe we have successfully unlocked an invaluable learning experience for our learners, providing them with a premium soccer offering, delivered by a South African football icon. The successful collaboration, communication, and execution of deliverables in the pilot phase of the PMSS programme have been impressive, laying the platform for further evolution, and we look forward to witnessing even more victories both on and off the pitch,” he said.
“The PMSS offering will be adapted to suit each school’s reality, considering factors such as immediate local soccer culture, the local market, and community needs. This will ensure that the programme remains a dynamic and responsive initiative tailored to the diverse needs of our learners.”
