Edmilson Dove will have a window of opportunity in January in his push for a new deal with his contract at Kaizer Chiefs up in June.
Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove will chase a new deal with by
starting the New Year with the opportunity of playing at the AFCON finals.
Dove has played seven of the last nine
games qualifiers for Mozambique this year and is in strong contention to be
selected for the AFCON finals to run from January 13 to February 11 in Cote
d’Ivoire.

The Mambas – who are coached by
Chiquinho Conde – will play in Group B against Egypt, Ghana, and Cape Verde in
Abidjan.
That tournament will be what the
29-year-old needs as he seeks to find a new deal upon the expiry of his
two-year deal at Chiefs.
Dove will be available to sign a pre-contract with effect from the
first of January as per the FIFA regulations and with the continental
tournament starting the same month it will be the platform he needs.
Chiefs are yet to open talks with Dove – who can play at left-back
and central defence.

AmaKhosi have already signed a younger central defence option in
Luke Fleurs, and they also have another left-footed centre back Aiden McCarthy
in the squad.
Prior to arriving at Chiefs, Dove had a brief stint with UD Songo
after having been with Cape Town City in the five years prior.
