SIX drug dealers were nabbed during a drug operation in Duduza, Ekurhuleni.
The operation, which kicked off on Friday and ended on Monday, 1 July, led to the capture of the suspects.
Ekurhuleni Metro Police spokeswoman Lieutenant-Colonel Kelebogile Thepa reported that the operation was successful in seizing illegal substances.
She emphasised the department’s commitment to address persistent drug dealing issues in the community.
Thepa noted that the suspects were caught with Nyaope, crystal meth, and rock.

“During the operation, three suspects were allegedly selling drugs on the streets,” she said.
Officers also acted on a tip-off about a suspected drug dealer on Sontonga Street. They apprehended a 26-year-old suspect found with 12 packets of street heroin (Nyaope), valued at R1 200.
Thepa highlighted the role of EMPD officers in dismantling drug syndicates in ekasi and stressed the importance of community involvement in combating crime.
“With the help of and accurate information from members of the public, we can win this war,” she stated.
