EFF’s Dr Mbuiseni Ndlozi told party members to tell people that Nelson Mandela is not a reason for them to keep voting ANC.
Ndlozi was speaking at the Human Rights Day commemoration in Sharpeville on Thursday, 21 March 2024.
“They should stop voting for the ANC as if they are doing a favour for the late president Nelson Mandela,” said Ndlozi.
Several political parties took advantage of the Human Rights Day commemoration by campaigning for the upcoming national elections on 29 May.
Since last weekend, political parties visited Sharpeville in numbers promising people better service delivery. Despite heavy rains and tents flying, political parties and their flocked to the busy Seiso Road in celebrating Human Rights Day.

Tankiso Mokoena from Evaton told the SunTeam that every year he comes to Sharpeville to commemorate the day.
“Everywhere on the busy road, people could be seen until morning,” he said.
Bosa leader Mmusi Maimane addressed members of different political parties who stormed the Sharpeville monument and said as multiple parties they say that blood spilt in Sharpeville will never be forgotten.
“We stand here today, saying on that day when the police took it upon the people to gun them down for human rights, they did so in Marikana, and did so in Langa.
“Today, they are watching as 73 South Africans being killed every day. We’re saying there shall never be human rights until every life is safe,” said Maimane.
