Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing Sibongiseni Mthethwa has opened up for the first time on his move blockbuster move to the Soweto Giants from Stellenbosch.
Following a drawn-out pursuit that went as far as the Amakhosi hierarchy triggering Mthethwa’s release clause, the 29-year-old midfielder put pen to paper on a three-year deal with his new side.

Mthethwa made his debut for Chiefs during a 2-1 win over Sekhukhune United on Wednesday and the defensive midfielder has shared his own thoughts on the move.
“Being here at Kaizer Chiefs, I just feel honoured to be part and parcel of the of the family, the big family,” Mthethwa told the club’s media.

“I just want to say that I’m grateful to get the chance to work with you and I hope we can work productively together as players, and that we will respect one another.
“The only thing I can promise the players is that I will be ‘Ox’ that they know. I will keep on pushing, I will win trophies with the club, and I will do everything in order for them to be happy.”
Chiefs return to action on Tuesday when they take on Cape Town City at FNB Stadium. Kick-off is at 19:30.
