After months of reported talks between club and player, Orlando Pirates’ Bandile Shandu could have agreed on a new deal, the Siya crew understands.
Siya sources have indicated that the versatile player could have extended his stay for one year plus there may be an option for another year.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, the club had opened talks with the former Maritzburg United player with the intention of extending his stay.
“He is one of the most consistent players in the team. The technical team believes in him. You know that when he is fit he will play and help the team,” said the Siya source.
“They want to keep him for a longer time and that’s why even though his contract is expiring next year in June they have made sure they agree to a new deal while there is still time. For what I know it’s a one-year contract plus another year option.

“So, he could be at the club until June 2026. It’s a good deal for both parties considering that he is 28-years-old now. So, he can still contribute a lot to the team,” the source said.
Meanwhile another source informed the Siya crew that it’s possible a new deal could have been signed.
“The talks have been going on for sometime now. Actually since last season. Just before the season ended. But now looking at the way they would like to keep the player they have agreed on a new deal,” said the other Siya source.

“The technical team believes in him and they have a long term plan for him at the team. The good thing is that he is versatile and they can use him in a different position.
“His new deal will see him stay at the club until at least June 2026. That’s what I know for now,” the source told the Siya crew.
Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment but received no response while this story was prepared.
