Two talented LEC rosters Team BDS vs Fnatic trade blows for a shot against G2 Esports at the Spring Split’s Grand Final, and the last spot at MSI 2024.
The culmination of the Spring Split is upon us. And in dominant LEC fashion, only three of the top five teams from Spring Season are left standing.
Seeing a team like BDS enter Playoffs isn’t new. The Swiss team has had numerous deep runs since last Winter, but always fell short against the best teams in the region. Oppositely, Fnatic’s slowly been making up for their loss streak last year with brash tactics. And their last games were arguably the best series in the split. Can BDS go the distance before the legendary Spanish org overtakes them?

Team BDS vs Fnatic Spring Semifinal Recap
Game 1
Both team opted for strong meta picks except Adam who went in with a Yasuo after Volibear and Rumble were banned out of the match. Despite BDS’ botlane going Rakan/Xayah, Fnatic still had the more stable team comp of the two.
Game 1 started with neither teams willing to engage, which led to Team BDS taking the first six turret plates. After 12 minutes of defense, Sheo’s Sejuani spilled first blood in a toplane gank that put BDS ahead 3-1.
Despite their enemy having more plates, dragons and player kills, Fnatic was able to find good trades in the 3k gold deficit. But as the match slowed down, Humanoid’s squad was unable to contest major objectives.
Both teams met at top jungle to compete for Nashor. But the teamfight met a predictable end when Adam took three Fnatic players off the board and helped secure the first Baron for Team BDS.
A few more victories gave BDS a major 12-4 lead at 28 minutes, but Fnatic’s hard-scaling champs still made them a threat into the late-game, so BDS played respectfully.
A risky play sent Sheo back to spawn, which gave Oscarinin, Razork, Humanoid, Noah and Jun a small window to take the next Baron. But despite their numbers advantage, it wasn’t enough to turn the fight to their favor.
In the end, their commanding lead led to Adam and co. taking the last drake of the match, and the first nexus of the best-of-five series.

Game 2
Match 2 saw Fnatic go for more sustain champs while BDS’s comp remained largely unchanged. And despite not having a counter for K’Sante, Adam had enough mechanics to outperform with Gragas.
Fnatic defended their turrets much better this time around. But the laning phase still put BDS in a better spot after they took first Drake and baited multiple summoner spells from Noah and Jun. nuc eventually got the first kill on Fnatic’s support, which was followed up by Sheo.
At this point, Razork couldn’t stop BDS from applying more pressure on botlane. Coordinated tower dives ended up putting Adam and co. 3.5k gold ahead, putting Fnatic in a dire spot.
Despite a 14-9 deficit, Fnatic pulled out a miracle play that shifted the balance. As the play for Soul began, Oscarinin led the charge into bot river, and spearheaded an assault that ended in four BDS deaths.
But in the end, Adam and co. still had an undeniable lead. And this gave them more than enough power to run down botlane and break open Fnatic’s nexus in another dominant win.

Game 3
Game three started with fast trades in the sidelanes that immediately put BDS on the backpedal.
More turret plates and other side objectives were just what Fnatic needed to turn the tables. For the first time in the series, Fnatic shut down BDS’ star jungler in a chaotic bid for third drake. And after a few more brawls, Jun and Razork just became a killer combo that denied BDS any further momentum.
By the 20-minute mark, Fnatic’s was ahead 12-5 against Team BDS. While Adam and nuc found picks, Fnatic kept finding ways to keep the kill gap wide. One sidelane split-push later, Fnatic eked out their first win of the series with a reversed score.

Game 4
Team BDS came into Game 4 with a ton of crowd control in their bottom lane, but it wasn’t enough to keep Fnatic from getting another hard-won victory.
Respectful plays from both sides put Team BDS vs Fnatic at an even score early in the match. Soonafter, BDS Sheo was able to get his team an inch in the lead. But their success didn’t last for long.
A scrappy fight for Rift Herald resulted in Fnatic taking the neutral objective and a fantastic pentakill for Noah. The outcome of the fight flipped the script entirely, and gave Fnatic the snowball they needed.
With a fully built Aurelion Sol, the black-and-orange org became unstoppable, leading into a botlane push that destroyed blue-side nexus. Fnatic equalizes the bo5 in the shortest match of the series!

Game 5
Adam stepped out of his comfort zone with a Zac draft pick, which ultimately meant that every engage would start and end with him. But it all came down to whose jungler could outplay the other.
A double kill from Jun gave Fnatic the earlygame advantage, which helped Oscarinin level up fast enough to win against Adam’s Zac. The momentum shifted to Fnatic’s favor, but Labrov and Ice scaled fast enough to equalize in the midgame.
From there, each team took turns winning teamfights until the score became nail-bitingly close. That said, Humanoid and Noah kept their confident 4k gold lead throughout the late-game and eventually found the stamina to win the very last teamfight of the series. Fnatic wins the bo5 semifinal against BDS, and will fight G2 Esports in the Spring Final tomorrow.
