Topless streaker swears at Australia players before being removed by security in Ashes fifth Test

A topless streaker evaded security at The Oval before swearing at Australia players on day three of the fifth Ashes Test.

The individual was eventually escorted off the pitch – but not before an England fan lobbed a plastic pint glass at him.

The incident happened just after England had extended their lead over the visitors to 300 runs in the second innings.

Seizing his chance to get his 15 minutes of fame, the pitch invader jumped over the barricade and darted towards the crease.

Taking his shirt off, he was seen putting his middle finger up towards the Australian fielders.

Pictures showed the yob flipping the bird in the direction of fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who looked totally unfazed.

Security guards then arrived quick on the scene to escort him off the pitch to the cheer of The Oval crowd.

One spectator was left fuming with his antics, as he threw a plastic cup at him from close range.

It was only last month that a Just Stop Oil protestor invaded the pitch at Lord’s in the second Ashes Test.

Thankfully for the hosts, the incident failed to have an affect on them as they piled on the runs on Saturday afternoon.

Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow top scored with 91 and 78 runs respectively as England finished Day Three on 389-9.

It means that England have a healthy lead of 377 runs heading into Sunday’s session with Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson at the crease.

Unfortunately for Ben Stokes’ side, they cannot win the Ashes after being cruelly denied a fourth Test win at Old Trafford last weekend to level up the series at 2-2.

It means that Australia have retained the urn, with England at best only being able to draw the series.

And they are determined to stop the visitors from winning a first Ashes series in the UK since 2001.
