Tottenham refuse to rule out Harry Kane staying as striker ponders Bayern Munich decision

Tottenham have refused to rule out the prospect of Harry Kane staying this summer despite an agreement with Bayern Munich.

Spurs have agreed to Bayern’s bid of £86.4million (€100m) plus add-ons for the England international.

But Kane is undecided on whether he wants to leave the Premier League for the Bundesliga yet.

There is a five-year contract on the table but the striker is weighing up whether he wants to depart so close to the season, talkSPORT understands.

Kane and Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou have built up a strong relationship over the past few weeks and he does not want to leave the Aussie coach in the lurch.

Equally, the 30-year-old has been linked with a departure throughout the summer and has at no point denied it.

Kane has entered the final year of his contract at Tottenham and turned down a £400,000-a-week deal to extend.

Spurs are reluctant to lose their talisman for nothing in the summer of 2024 and have got what they demanded from Bayern, more or less.

But the striker is still undecided on his future, which could delay a completed transfer further.

With the season set to get underway this weekend, it only muddies the waters more ahead of what is undoubtedly the biggest decision of his career.

If he does sign for Bayern, he would smash their club record transfer by nearly £20m.

The German giants signed Lucas Hernandez in 2019 for £68m, though he has since left for Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern are desperate to fight for the Champions League again after crashing out to Manchester City last season.

They have won one Champions League title in nine years, their last success coming in 2020.

Tottenham, meanwhile, will no doubt rue the departure of their best-ever goalscorer if he does leave while Gent ace Gift Orban has been linked as a potential long-term replacement.

Kane could even decide to snub interest in Bayern Munich this summer and wait until next summer.

At that point, the London-born star will be able to pick where he wants to go, if clubs are still interested in him.
