Donny van de Beek is reportedly in talks to depart Manchester United just three years after joining from Ajax for £35million.
The 26-year-old has struggled since arriving at Old Trafford – scoring just twice from 60 games in all competitions.
It was hoped by fans that he would rediscover his form after former boss Erik ten Hag joined him at the Theatre of Dreams last summer.
But he has failed to establish himself as a starter under the Dutchman, with the BBC stating that LaLiga outfit Real Sociedad are negotiating with the player regarding a transfer.
The news outlet has also declared that fellow midfielder Fred could be on his way out with Fulham keen.
Meanwhile centre-back Eric Bailly has been told he is not in Ten Hag’s plans.
More on Matt Turner’s move to Nottingham Forest.
talkSPORT understands that Arsenal and the Reds have agreed to a £7million transfer.
The Gunners are set to pocket a small £1.5m profit after signing the 29-year-old from MLS side New England Revolution last year.
Turner played just seven times for the north London outfit last season, with none of his appearances coming in the Premier League.
He was on the bench in Sunday’s Community Shield victory over Manchester City where he picked up a winners medal.
And talkSPORT also understands that Turner’s arrival at City Ground will not impact their pursuit of Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is a reported £60million target for Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad.
A number of his ex-Reds teammates have made the move to the Middle East, with Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Sadio Mane now playing in the Gulf nation.
And Salah is the latest high-profile player to be linked with a mega-money deal.
According to Saudi television station Al-Riyadiah, Al Ittihad are prepared to bid £60m, while offering Salah a £155m-a-year contract.
But Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa has declared that his client remains committed to the Merseyside outfit.
He tweeted: “If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC.”
More on Arsenal’s pursuit of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
The Athletic have stated that the Gunners remain in advanced talks with the Bees to sign the Spanish shot-stopper.
An opening offer was knocked back by the west Londoners, but both teams are looking to strike a deal.
Brentford are keen to offload the 27-year-old with the player refusing to extend his stay beyond 2024.
He will replace Matt Turner, with the USA international set to undergo his medical ahead of a move to Nottingham Forest.
It has been said that his medical will take place later on Monday after Forest and Arsenal agreed a fee for the 29-year-old.
Mikel Arteta commented on Aaron Ramsdale’s position as Arsenal number one amid David Raya transfer links.
Raya looks set to join the Gunners from Brentford this summer.
Ramsdale was Arsenal’s penalty shootout hero as they beat Arsenal in the Community Shield.
Asked whether Ramsdale might have felt he had a point to prove ahead of the match, Arteta insisted: “I hope not, because the competition always exists, whoever it is. That’s how it has to feel like.
“He was great. We practise penalties a lot on purpose in pre-season to be ready [for] this. We went through disappointment against Manchester United [losing a shoot-out in pre-season], and we didn’t stop any of that [preparation].
“I think we had some great moments in the game, especially in the first half with three massive chances. When you don’t put them away, you know what can happen.”
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has criticised Bayern Munich for their very public pursuit of Harry Kane.
There remains uncertainty over Kane’s future, with Bayern executives jetting in to London last week for face-to-face talks.
Following their final pre-season game, where Kane scored four times, Postecoglou said: “I’d certainly never speak about players contracted at other clubs; I’m not at Bayern, they can do what they want.
“There’s no doubt that I would use Kane. I didn’t need today to tell me that. He’s world class. The way this team will play will help him.”
That’s it for today on talkSPORT.com’s football news blog.
We’ll be back in the morning with the latest on all the big football stories.
Kylian Mbappe will be barred from training with Paris St Germain’s main first-team group as his contract dispute with the club continues, it has been reported.
PSG return to their training base on Monday following their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, but Mbappe will be part of the so-called ‘loft’ training group rather than the first team as his stand-off with the club drags on.
PSG sources remain convinced the player, who is out of contract next summer, has already agreed a free transfer deal with Real Madrid, the PA news agency reports.
Mbappe’s management are understood to have refused to engage with an offer from the club to sign a new contract containing a guaranteed sale clause, which would allow him to join another club for a fee next summer.
From PSG’s perspective, there is no reason why he would turn down the offer, because it gives him the opportunity to leave when he wants and join the club he wants.
PSG had given Al Hilal permission to speak to the player after they tabled a world record bid of £259million last month, but Mbappe reportedly refused to even meet with delegates from the Saudi club who had flown to Paris.
Chelsea and Barcelona are understood to be two of the clubs trying to work out a player-plus-cash deal for Mbappe, who was part of France’s World Cup-winning squad in 2018 and also one of the stars of the last tournament in Qatar.
PSG kick off their 2023/24 Ligue 1 campaign at home to Lorient on Saturday.
Jamie O’Hara and Jermaine Pennant believe Kai Havertz can’t lead Arsenal’s front line.
Havertz, who joined the Gunners from Chelsea in a £65million deal earlier this summer, struggled during Arsenal’s victory over Manchester City in the Community Shield.
The German forward missed two big chances in the first half, which could’ve spared Arsenal from requiring a penalty shootout to win the match.
😳 “Havertz can’t hit a barn door.”
❌ “This game shouldn’t have gone to penalties. He should’ve scored!”
😬 “He’s going to let you down when it comes to the crunch.”

Tottenham defender Ben Davies says Harry Kane hasn’t changed despite the uncertainty over his future.
Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich all summer but his exploits for Spurs on Sunday afternoon proves he isn’t letting that distract him.
The striker looked sharp as ever as he netted four goals in Spurs’ 5-1 thumping of Shakhtar Donetsk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
And in an interview with talkSPORT post-match, Davies gave insight into the mindset of Kane amid all the speculation.
Davies said: “It’s not like we’re unaware of the speculation that’s going on but the reality is we feed off him and nothing changes within his energy every day. He’s giving his all every single day.”
Rumoured Newcastle target Goncalo Ramos is closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano says an agreement has been reached between the French giants and Benfica over a deal which could rise up to €80million (around £69m).
Romano adds that the move for the Portugal forward will be a loan with an obligation to buy next summer. Ramos is set for his medical next week.
Chelsea are set to loan out one of their new young talents to Strasbourg.
Angelo Gabriel joined the Blues from Santos in July and is set to complete a move away on a season-long deal.
Chelsea’s owners bought a stake of Strasbourg in June and they set to lend the Ligue 1 side a hand with Gabriel.
The 18-year-old winger had already played in 95 league games for Santos prior to his £13million transfer.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed the club will look to sign more defenders ahead of the new season.
The club look set to seal a deal for Wolfsburg centre-back Micky van de Ven but it appears more will come through the door too.
When queried about a deal for the Dutchman, who was in the crowd for their 5-1 friendly win over Shakhtar Donetsk, he said:”Well, it hasn’t been done yet so it’s not right for me to talk about but there’s no doubt we need some bolstering in that central defensive area. We’re looking for players that can play the kind of football we want.
“We need defenders who are going to be able to work in an aggressive formation, be able to defend really well one vs one and the space in behind.
“Hopefully we’ll get one or two done in the next couple of days to bolster us in that area.”
Manchester United are likely to agree deals for some of their stars this week with another gaining interest.
With Andre Onana joining from Inter Milan, chances are going to be thin for backup goalkeeper Matej Kovar.
The 23-year-old Czech player was on loan at Sparta Prague last season but may now leave permanently.
According to The Sun, Sparta Prague were keen on landing him but now Hull and Red Star are in the race to sign him.
Kovar joined the Red Devils in 2018 but hasn’t made a single first-team appearance.
Arsenal summer signing Declan Rice made his competitive debut in the Community Shield – but his transfer fee still isn’t going down well with some.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane said: “He’s obviously going to be surrounded by better players with different demands if he’s going to play higher up the pitch.
“I think he definitely has that quality in terms of adding more goals to him, he’s got that physical strength and he can get in the box.
“They’ve obviously still paid way too much for him. He’s certainly not worth over £100million, Declan Rice, but he’s a really good player.”
Make that four and out for Harry Kane against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Bayern Munich transfer target tapped home at the back post after a shot was saved from new signing Manor Soloman.
Moments later the England captain was applauding all four stands as he left the pitch to a standing ovation.
Throughout the game Spurs fans have been singing ‘Harry Kane, we want you stay’ as the club looks to keep hold of their talisman.
He is entering the final year of his current deal and it’s believed he won’t push for a transfer and will not move once the Premier League season gets under way.
Tottenham star Harry Kane isn’t letting transfer rumours distract from his goalscoring.
Spurs’ captain for the day against Shakhtar Donetsk now has a hat-trick as they lead the Ukrainians 3-1.
His first was from the penalty spot, tucking home into the bottom right corner.
The second was a header from new signing James Maddison’s cross.
And the third was a composed finish from a Dejan Kulusevski throughball.
Leicester City may have lost stars like James Maddison this summer but one of their key men is going nowhere.
A substitute in their 2-1 comeback win over Coventry City in the Championship on Sunday, James Justin is keen to payback the Foxes after his injury woes.
He told The Sun: “I went from the highest of highs by playing for England to the lows of being injured and relegated.
“But I’m staying. Leicester took a chance on me after I won promotion from League One with Luton four years ago.
“This club has done a lot for my career. They’ve stuck by me through two bad injuries, having previously been out for 11 months with an ACL, and fully rehabilitated me.
“My plan is to help the team get promoted this season.”
Tottenham have named striker Harry Kane in their starting XI for their penultimate pre-season friendly before the new season.
New manager Ange Postecoglou has also given Kane, the subject of multiple transfer bids from Bayern Munich, the captain’s armband against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The German giants tabled their last bid on Friday but are yet to get a response from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
Kane, 30, leads the line alongside Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski, while new signing James Maddison starts in midfield with starlet Pape Matar Sarr and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, a summer transfer from Empoli also plays, with Emerson Royal, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, and Destiny Udogie in defence.
Crystal Palace could raid Southampton as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
The Eagles may well need a new striker in the coming weeks with Jean-Philippe Mateta a potential outgoing.
RB Leipzig are believed to be keen on the Frenchman and Genoa had an offer rejected.
And if he does find the exit at Selhurst Park, Hodgson could move for Che Adams, according to The Sun.
The Scotsman hit the winner for the Saints at Sheffield Wednesday on Friday.
Sheffield United have been told to pay £10million if they want to sign Nottingham Forest star Lewis O’Brien.
The midfielder is available for transfer and could go out on loan to a Championship club.
Steve Cooper’s Tricky Trees, though, aren’t keen on helping a Premier League rival, despite O’Brien being sent on loan to DC United last term.
According to The Sun, they won’t sanction a loan for the 24-year-old and instead want a lump sum to let him join the Blades.
Man City will make a move for Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma next, according to The Sun.
City are in the final stages of completing a deal for RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol and it has been claimed they will then target Mitoma next.
He has reportedly been identified as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez and would likely cost in excess of £50million.
Bayern Munich are still awaiting a final decision from Tottenham on Harry Kane.
talkSPORT understands the Premier League side are ‘relaxed’ about Kane’s future, despite Bayern’s attempts to hurry things along.
The Bundesliga champions are thought to have bid £86million for the England captain in a take-it-or-leave-it deal to Tottenham.
No final decision has come from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy on whether to sell Kane to the German club.
That’s all for the talkSPORT.com live blog today.

Huge transfer news regarding Brighton!
According to The Athletic, the Seagulls have reached an agreement with Ajax for Mohammed Kudus.
The versatile attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with moves to Arsenal and Chelsea this summer.
But it appears that Brighton have won the race to sign the 23-year-old.
It has been said that Brighton will pay Ajax £34.5million, which would be a club-record signing for the south coast side.
