Tyson Fury gives Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi verdict in front of Al Nassr superstar before Francis Ngannou fight

The Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi debate has gone on for years but Tyson Fury has delivered his verdict on who is the greatest.

Ahead of his crossover bout against UFC giant Francis Ngannou, ‘The Gypsy King’ sat down for a conversation with Ronaldo in Riyadh.

The Portuguese legend didn’t have to travel far as his Al Nassr side play in the capital of Saudi Arabia.

His equally iconic counterpart Messi has also left Europe and is now in the MLS with Inter Miami, with the two greats still full of quality.

However, Fury believes there is one clear winner of the debate and was on hand to reveal it in front of Ronaldo himself.

In a video posted on X, he told the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star: “Cristiano, you are the greatest footballer that’s ever lived, and I mean that.”

The duo shook hands before Fury added: “I’m a big fan, I watch all the football. I watched you when you were at Manchester United the first time, the second time, all of the Real Madrid [games].”

“You’ve never been to the stadium?” Ronaldo then asked, before Fury replied: “I come to the stadium but I get very much torture when I go there. It’s just like ‘boom!’, so it’s very difficult for me.”

Ronaldo has scored 28 goals in 32 appearances for Al Nassr since he signed in January, with 14 of those coming this season.

Messi has also enjoyed a strong season with Inter Miami, with the World Cup winner netting 11 goals across 14 matches.

His seven Ballon d’Or trophies are two more than Ronaldo and he looks set to win his eighth honour on Monday night.

However, Fury has already made his mind up about who’s better as he prepares for the 35th fight of his boxing career.

He will return to the ring for the first time since December when he beat Derek Chisora by TKO.

Ngannou, who has won 17 of his 20 MMA fights, is making his boxing debut, with the winner being crowned as the ‘Riyadh Champion’.
